Really cannot say enough good things about this property. Location was perfect for us and very close to grocery store and Fife Lake area. Perfect setting for a relaxing weekend. Well equipped with modern amenities in a historic cabin. We definitely hope to return!
My husband and I, with my son, daughter-in-law, and 22 month old granddaughter loved this cabin. It was challenging with a toddler but we had a wonderful week. Carole, the host, is extremely friendly and helpful.
Idyllic setting for a relaxing getaway. An off the beaten path gem close enough to local sites of interest for an easy day trip drive, if desired. Carole is a very gracious host to work with on check in an out. My one minor request would be better lighting in the bathrooms, especially the lower, but otherwise a really lovely cabin!
This family cabin recently renovated was everything we were hoping for. On a lake with views of the Fall colors. We fished, went for long walks and relaxed by the fire. Carole our host was gracious and made sure our stay was comfortable. We will definitely come back. This location is a real treasure for those who want peace and quite.
This is truly a special place. It is a beautiful cabin in the woods! There are so many cooking supplies in the kitchen, and a water softener/tankless water heater, which we loved! Everything has been carefully thought out so that you have everything you need. We had so much fun relaxing with our 2 and 5 year olds. We enjoyed s’mores by the campfire and there are several boats for exploring the lake! I misplaced 2 wedding rings at some point- wanted to let everyone know in case you come across them somewhere at the cabin or on the trail around the property, which is beautiful and fun to explore!
This place is awesome. I don’t think I can say enough good things to do it justice. A beautiful lake just outside the back door, kayaks and a row boat available, nice dock, plenty of fish in the lake to help beginners learn (and get some easy catches), great communication, comfortable cabin with everything you might need from pots/pans to shampoo, thoughtful detail surrounding the updating of the property! Plus so many more amenities. We can’t wait to go back!
This cabin was as described in the listing. It was clean and had everything you need for a relaxing time away. There was a fire pit for s’mores, kayaks, life vests and a platform for swimming. There were books, games and puzzles as well. Kitchen had enough dishes and equipment to make a nice meal. Water was hot for all showers. The only thing you may need to know is that it is on a dirt road with a gate. The GPS listed it further down the dirt road but look for the gate with wooden address sign right by stop sign.
Would stay again! Owner is a pleasure to work with!
This was the nicest and cutest rental! The communication with the owners was above and beyond! Extremely easy! I would stay again! Prices right!
My only suggestion (which is because it a a personal preference) is to have better lighting in the downstairs bathroom and in the living room area off the main entrance, curtains. Again, this is just a personal preference of mine. No reflection on the owners at all.
I would stay here again in a second! Had a wonderful time! Thank you so very much!
Lovely rare setting with Vintage Charm and Modern amenities!
Exactly as pictured and even better in person! This was the perfect getaway from it all for our small family girls weekend! Cooking out on the fire pit, Hiking around the property and paddling out to the float were some of our highlights. As an Architect, I usually re-work spaces in my mind, but this place did not need that. The addition, finishes and eclectic decorations were so well done that the cabin was purely relaxing! My only regret was not inviting a few more people to enjoy the place with us! Carole was super easy to communicate with, and the place was pretty spotless! It is full on nature, so don’t forget your bug spray and be sure to check for ticks! My sister caught and released a nice fish right off of the dock, and we saw a few others hiking around the lake in shallower waters. We also enjoyed visiting Traverse City and Fife Lake - as thy were getting ready for the summer season, both were easy drives from the adorable cabin!
We have stayed at a lot of rental properties and this was one of our most enjoyable stays ever. The view of the private lake was serenity in perfection. It is the perfect place to decompress. Only 3 properties share the lake and you can’t really see them from the house so it feels like your own private lake.
The paddle boat, kayaks, and the floating swimming platform was great fun. Our little 15-pound Havanese jumped off the platform and swam to me on the dock (with a life jacket). He loved it here and felt right at home.
We loved the cabin and property so much that we barely left the place—which is highly unusual for us.
Carole was fantastic to work with. She was a great host and communicator. She was extremely kind and even let us check out late.
The cabin is beautifully done. The master bedroom is nice with a cozy bed and skylights. My elderly mom (85 years old) joined us and used the downstairs sleeper sofa which was very comfy and had the best lake views. That way she did not have to go downstairs to use the bathroom.
The other two beds upstairs are more suitable for younger people--kids or teenagers.
Everything was absolutely perfect. We will be back again for sure!
The cabin was super clean upon arrival. We got in just before sunset and the view was exceptional!
There's a lot to love about this cabin on a private lake. You can tell there is intention behind each item you'll find. There's an eclectic array of art and antiques, binoculars to nature watch from across the lake.
Overall, we loved our stay at the cabin.
Being that we came in October, we were just looking for a waterfront property to relax away from home and enjoy nature. With that we spent a lot of time inside watching deer and the leaves fall. That is where our only complaint comes in, nearly all the furniture was uncomfortable to hunker down on for any extended amount of time. As there was only two of us, we only tried the one bed because we didn't want to soil the other bedding.
Carloe seems sweet and obviously loves the property! She responded relatively quick to text messages, but would probably answer the phone quickly. Also, compared to some other properties I've stayed at, this one doesn't come with a binder of rules, so the stay felt even more laid back.
A couple things to note about the property that I did not remember reading in the description.
Most of the furniture is low, if you are tall or have a hard time getting up this may prove a bit difficult. Also, the washer and dryer are through trap doors. I had packed in a way to wash and re-wear clothes. While some may feel comfortable to use it, we didn't want to bother.
Overall, we would come back!
My family and I booked this location to escape the city for the weekend with our dogs and it was the perfect getaway. The hosts were lovely, the property was the perfect updated cabin, and the space was away from it all with a perfect night view and trails to wander.
Sont know what to say. Amazing house and property, it was one of the most peaceful getaways we've done in a long time. We were there at peak fall color and it was beautiful. Check in was easy and the owner couldnt be nicer.
We stayed at this charming chalet for 12 days in early fall and were absolutely enchanted. Nestled by the lake on a secluded 300-acre privately-owned property, the chalet offers breathtaking views and endless tranquility. Our dogs had the time of their lives exploring the trails in the surrounding woods. Every part of the day revealed its unique beauty, and on our last night, we were lucky enough to witness the Northern Lights, which illuminated the sky with their mesmerizing colors for hours. It was truly magical. This place is a nature lover's paradise! We are deeply grateful for the warm hospitality and the unfounforgettable experience. experience.
Our family loved the mix of old and new at this cabin. Legit log cabin on one side and modern kitchen/bathrooms on the other. The eclectic decorations made it even more fun. We played in the lake, saw some amazing sunsets and even got to see the northern lights just down the street. It was relaxing and quiet which is just what we were looking for.
