"This is a modern property. We had a room with a panoramic view onto the lake. Breakfast buffet was good but disappointing selection of Portuguese cheeses. The hotel has recently added a restaurant - excellent. Very little English spoken. "

"Nice clean, functional hotel that is centrally located without being noisy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Local area had a great variety of shops, bars, restaurants, cafes and culture. Always felt safe wandering around, never hassled."

"What an amazing hotel ! It's split into two halves, with the dining (and much more - chapel, art gallery, lovely rooms, including a games room!) in a separate building across the courtyard. If it's raining, there is a tunnel connecting the two! The breakfast was very good - the evening meal (we had half-board) was reasonably good, not outstanding. "This was our second stay at the Hotel da Oliveira. All being well, we shall be returning again. "This hotel does was it says on the tin. It is definitely a 3 star and I miss the tea/coffee facilities in the room! There are no spare plug sockets to charge electrical items. We were lucky and got given a room on the 4th floor which had a balcony. This hotel is very close to the old part of Braga and so extremely convenient. Breakfast is basic and choice is limited but it is fine to start the day. Parking is very limited however there is a public car park close by and relatively cheap."

Great Hotel near Peneda-Gerês Park

"Hotel São Bento is a beautiful hotel in a great location near Peneda-Gerês national park. Everyone at the hotel were very friendly, kind, and helped us in English to address our limited Portuguese vocabulary. The restaurant was delicious as well, and the nearby park has amazing viewpoints (miradouros), waterfalls (cascatas) and hiking. We would definitely come back and stay at this hotel again."

"Nice property. The area is very quiet and green. The staff were also helpful and kind. But there’s a need to pay attention to some details: Some areas for improvement: - at night, outdoor lights were not functioning (from the restaurant to the pool area) - room 301: entrance door needs repair. Toilet seat super noisy. The shower floor is bent in the wrong direction, so there is always a lot of water left. - room service was minimal (no towel refresh, no water added after the first day) - there are not enough sun beds at the pool area. There were often none left at around 4-5p - breakfast could benefit from fresher/more ‘homemade’ options. There were too many industrial cheese/jam/bread/toppings. Not a bad breakfast but given the good quality of the restaurant on the evening we were expecting something better."
