Booked 2 months in advance. Booked and paid for 3 rooms, 7 adults, 7 nights. When we turned up to the hotel, we were given the correct rooms by the reception staff. A few days into our stay, the hotel manager questioned our booking and nagged us for extra payments. After providing booking details, proof of payment and despite the manager making 3 calls to Expedia in my presence and receiving all necessary info of our booking directly from Expedia we were forced to pay again after being threatened with being kicked out of the hotel midway into our stay. Is this legal? The management have zero customer service, unprofessional, rude and greedy. They extort money from customers in the hope that the customer can claim this cost from their travel agent. It's a shame as staff at the reception desk, bar and restaurant are very nice and have great customer service.
Positives: good variety of food during breakfast and dinner. Great pool that closes at 7pm. Good collection of board games. Good sized rooms.
Negatives: No WIFI connection, it's only available near the restaurant area on the ground floor. No lift / disabled access. No kettle in rooms, no tea/coffee facilities in rooms. No gym or fitness facilities. The staircase from the car park to the hotel didn't have any steps and very dangerous.
Overall, this place should not be classed as a 3 star hotel. Beware of their scams. One of our friends was placed at a different hotel Miramar across the road despite booking with Mendos.
