We booked the Palais Nazha Fes in November for a much-anticipated visit to Morocco in late December and were very much looking forward to ring out the year in Fes.
To our surprise, the Palais Nazha Fes cancelled our stay the day before we arrived “due to a technical problem in our Riad.”
Since we were traveling in remote areas of Morocco at the time, we had very limited internet access but after several hours we managed to find a new hotel in Fes on extremely short notice for those three days at the end of the year.
The Palais Nazha Fes promised to contact Expedia and refund our stay for two rooms. However, since then we have spent numerous hours on the phone and on emails between Expedia and the hotel to resolve this conflict and to get our refund.
Apparently, Expedia has been unable to reach anyone at the Palais Nazha Fes in several days and my repeated emails to the hotel have gone unanswered after their initial note of the cancellation and commitment messages that they would contact Expedia for the refund.
This has been a very frustrating experience, which has impacted our enjoyment of an amazing trip to Morocco. The hotel has taken our money in advance as part of the reservation and then cancelled our reservation on 24-hour notice - we have not heard back from them or received a refund for services not rendered.
Be very careful with this property!!!
