Dar El Mask
I arrived at this hotel late at night and it was nearly impossible to find the place (not the hotel's fault obviously). The surrounding area is a maze of streets that is challenging to navigate. However, once inside, the rooms are beautiful; and the entire interior of the hotel is well-styled, architecturally. The guys working in the hotel (can't recall their names) were quite nice and helped set us up with a private car tour down to Merzouga. [Sidenote on their tour: The price is not likely a bargain since you're paying for convenience; I think we paid about 130 Euros (~160USD) for a 1 night stay but this included the private car transport for 7 hours with a couple stops (saw monkeys), then a half hour 4x4 vehicle and the camel rides as well as food/accommodations at the Bedouin village.]
Cons:
1. It was challenging to get anyone to answer the door right away as the receptionist was asleep.
2. No keys to the room were given to us, so possible that it's hard to have security here, I imagine.
