"Lovely hotel in a great location for York racecourse and a short taxi ride into the city centre (or 30 min walk). Rooms are very well appointed although the bathroom could be upgraded with dual flush toilet etc. Bed was very comfortable and noise was at a minimum. Staff are helpful and friendly. We like that the pool was open till 11pm"

"We booked a very last minute stay here. The drive into hotel is lovely and from the outside a lot of character. Inside main hotel was modernly decorated and still had character. We had a room in the coach house which is in the next building to the hotel. The room was quite dated compared to main hotel. Good sized room. A little dusty in areas. Plenty room for clothes. "New hotel still with teething problems, but nothing that time settling will not resolve. Bargain for what we paid but still needs to iron out the issues before charging their full rate. Staff are super friendly and on hand at all times to make your stay enjoyable."

"Very friendly, helpful staff. The valet parking was easy and convenient. Our room had been recently refurbished so it was in great condition. Comfy bed, plenty of storage and surface space to put all our toiletries etc. However, the bathroom disappointed slightly. Although clean, and part of a refurbished room, it had a shower over a bath. I would have preferred a walk-in shower. Just a personal preference, but I suspect it may be more popular than a bath for lots of people. Great breakfast!...

"We choose this hotel because it was close to the racecourse to do the park run . This isn’t our first time staying here we opted for premium room this time which was a lot bigger with a comfy big bed perfect for the purposes of our stay "

"This hotel is convenient for the city centre and from the train station. The room was comfortable. A couple of the towels were very worn and the area under the sink hadn't been thoroughly cleaned. "
