The night we stayed was so cold so the log fires in the bar/eating area was lovely and the bedroom was perfect. Everything was so comfy we could’ve happily stayed a lot longer! "

"Friendly welcome, attentive but not intrusive service in the restaurant. Room was spotlessly clean, bed was comfortable. Shower was hot (just as I like it!). Food is homecooked and very, very good. I have to travel to this area for work frequently, guess who's become my first choice of hotel? And guess where I've just booked for next week? "

"This is a wonderful if rambling hotel with lots of cosy seating and an excellent restaurant. The rooms are well appointed with very comfortable beds. The staff are unfailingly pleasant and helpful. This was our second visit and we will be back again in the future. "
