"Spent an amazing few nights at Faofao fales. The fale is right on the beach and a great place to relax. The family that run these fales are very friendly and beautiful hosts. The meals were so tasty and enjoyed lovely cocktails on the eating area veranda looking out over the ocean. Will definitely return here. The mosquito nets were intact, the mattresses comfortable and the shared bathroom facilities were well kept and cleaned. The location is close to To Sua trench and lolmanu beach however the Faofao beach is so beautiful i was happy to spend time there. Cant wait to return!"

"It was excellent. We arrived on a Sunday which is when most stores in Samoa are closed, however the hotel held our bags and provided excellent information on where to go and what would be open. Pool was nice and room was good."

"Our villa faced the pool and was within walking distance to the beach as well. Our villa was spotless and spacious. Each villa had their own private outdoor shower. My only issue was the mattress wasn't firm but other than that our villa was fine. The staff were all helpful and friendly. You can hire snorkeling gear, paddle board, read a book or swim in the pool. We hired a car but I think there's a shuttle from the airport that can be arranged with the resort. There are tours available. Hoping to return with our children next time."

"The staff were very friendly and accommodating; the breakfast was good - everything from toast and eggs to cerral and fruit. The room was clean and comfortable. Perhaps the pool could use a little upgrading (broken tiles, cleaning around the tiles), but the pool water was clean for swimming. "

"The Lava Hotel is lovely place to stay. The Staff is welcoming, accommodating and friendly. The food is delicious. There is live entertainment on certain days. The location is in a village which gives the atmosphere you would want when trying to be absorbed in the Samoan culture. From the island’s warm breeze to its beautiful surroundings, you would be transported to tranquility. I highly recommend this hotel to any travelers looking for authenticity. "
