Quiet, Cozy Modern Mountain, Family Friendly Home w/Game room - Puma's Den

Looking to fill all your mountain vacationing dreams? Look no further. Puma's Den is everything you could need and more. This 3 bedroom 2 bath mountain home sits on a large 1 acre lot with plenty of space for entertaining. Enjoy the all day sun pouring in from the large windows in the great room or relax on the deck with wildlife and mountain views. The two story home with a second living area downstairs is perfect for all sizes and activities. The whole family can come and enjoy the great outdoors and also have space to spread out in the home. This location is perfect if you are looking to bring your ATV's and trailers for some fun in the area. Plenty of flat surface parking and a straight driveway, which is rare at this altitude. If you are looking for a secluded mountain home, Puma Den has everything you need for your perfect family getaway to the Fairplay Central Rockies.

You will be welcomed by an open living space and floor to ceiling windows when you first enter the home. Enjoy the glorious views of the mountains while cooking, eating or just hanging out. For those cold winter days or summer nights, enjoy cuddling up with friends and family around the wood burning stove. The chefs in the family will love being able to create delicious meals while still being a part of the fun. With the brand new leather couches and the thoughtful decorative touches, you will feel right at home. Step outside to the wrap around deck to enjoy your morning coffee surrounded by birds signing and animals playing.

Puma's Den has two spacious private bedrooms and a third bedroom perfect for the kids. The master suite which is located on the first floor has a King size bed and windows that allow the luxury of feeling like you are in the woods while still being able to pull the blinds and relax inside. You will find a large flat screen TV and lots of storage room in a large dresser and closet. There is a full bath located on the first floor which is shared between the two bedrooms on the mail level. The second bedroom located upstairs has a Queen size bed. Enjoying looking outside at the birds moving around or close the blinds for perfect darkness. There is plenty of room in the closet and small dresser for all your belongings. The third bedroom is located just down the steps. With Twin bunk beds and a Queen size bed, the kids (or adults) will feel like they are having a sleepover every night! Across the hall you will find the second full bathroom with a shower/tub combo.

The home has a full size kitchen with everything you will need to cook your favorite meals. It is open to the dining area and living room so that anybody cooking can still be a part of the thrilling conversation. The dining table seats six people with two more at the kitchen island. All the necessary cooking utensils and dishes are provided for you to channel your inner top chef for the weekend.

The best part about Puma's Den? You get two living spaces for the family to spread out and have fun. There is no need to try and cram the whole family upstairs when you can send the kiddos downstairs to entertain themselves while the adults enjoy some "adult time". The basement has a huge open floor living space for all the activities they can think of. There is a foosball table for tournaments along with a new flat screen television for movie watching. The basement has an outside door that leads to the backyard where kids can be "mountaineers" or "gold prospects" looking for the next shiny payout! Downstairs is also where you will find the laundry room with a full size top loading washer and dryer.

Outside there is a large wrap-around deck with seating. There is a nice gas grill to BBQ your favorite "cook-out" meals. You will want to spend a lot of time on the deck to enjoy the beautiful mountain views and wildlife. It is very common to see Moose, Elk and Deer right on the property as several families of Moose live in the area. You may even be lucky enough to catch a fox playing through the yard! The home is surrounded by pine and spruce trees. You can hike around the one acre property or take a leisurely walk up the mountain roads to National Forests which offers great outdoor hiking trails. The driveway has plenty of flat parking for trailers carrying ATV's in the summer or snowmobiles in the winter.

Mountain Vacay
We try to go to CO every year and this year we wanted to be more in the moutains. The location did not disappoint. Very close to several trails and lots of fourteeners. As other have stated the road to the home is very rough, but it seems like that anywhere you go in Colorado if you are off the beaten path a bit. The house was very clean, and the property manager was very responsive and helpful. They were more than happy to bring us anything we needed and did so very quickly. We would definitely stay here again.

The cabin was great, the view was great, nice place for a family getaway. Only complaint is the 2 miles of rough road to get there from Highway 9.

Good mountain getaway
The cabin is at 11,000 feet and there is about 4 miles of gravel road to get to the cabin. It can be a little rough in spots, but still fine for a 2wd car (in our opinion). It's definitely worth it if a secluded home in the mountains is what you're after. I will say, honestly, that the view is just "ok." It's not quite as nice as it seems from the pictures. Trees block a lot of it and you face the South Park valley, not the peaks of the Mosquito Range that sit right behind the house. That's not to say it's not beautiful, just not quite what we expected from the pictures. Some reviews mentioned an uncomfortable king bed upstairs, but we found it to be very nice (probably replaced recently). In general, the furnishings inside are very nice and feel relatively new. It is cozy and well-kept. The kitchen is fairly lacking. Pots and pans are in rough shape, limited glassware. There are basic utensils but definitely bring anything you need beyond silverware and spatulas. Outside, the property could use some TLC. The deck is showing its age and there is random junk under the deck and in various parts of the yard. Randomly, there's a big shipping container near the car parking area. Driving up the road, you see other properties that seem to be much better maintained.

Our stay was wonderful! The house was very nice and the mountain sunrises were beautiful. We enjoyed the layout and loved the games downstairs. The road to the cabin was passable, but the description isn't kidding when they say 4-wheel drive is necessary.

Beautiful place and setting. The only issue was the roads from 9 Hwy to the location. The roads were wash-boarded and just generally rough. it took me 20 minutes to drive the 4+ miles to the house. Hopefully the county maintainer will get on a more regular grading schedule.

Nice Cabin
We loved our stay in the cabin. I didn't realize the kids room was in the basement so one of us parents had to sleep in the queen bed in their room to make them comfortable. We saw lots of deer and other wildlife in the backyard. I would definitely stay again.

Quiet, remote luxury in the alpine woods.
Great stay was had by my wife and I over Memorial Day weekend. We were surprised by a “thunder” snow storm and two inches of snow with 25 degrees in the morning. This place has just about all one needs for a great respite and recharge. The only snag we had was a satellite that failed due to storms and no television but we could stream. Great views of South Park from the deck. The road in is rough and a Jeep or other four wheeler helps to get in to this locale at 11,000 feet above sea level.

Awesome cabin!! Perfect setting and location to the ski towns
What an awesome cabin located up in the mountains of FairPlay, cabins at like 10,000ft. It sits perfectly on the mountain and when the sun comes up in the morning it is remarkable the views you get. Great spot to stay if you wanna hit the ski towns, Breckinridge is like 35 min away. We did Breckinridge, vail for snowboarding/skiing then made our way to rabbit ears pass for backcountry snowmobiling (highly recommend it!!) I would definitely stay at this cabin again. one suggestion I would make is getting a humidifier for the cabin as we found it very dry in the cabin. A 4X4 truck or suv is a must in the winter! The road to the cabin can be crazy with the amount of snow up there. 10/10 great place to stay.. enjoy
