Owner Nightmare
Owner accused us of breaking a chair, a banister, and leaving the places a mess. Fortunately we took pictures of everything after we cleaned to prove otherwise. Also we accidentally parked 1 too many cars in the driveway, which we quickly moved when informed, but she came and took pictures and was an extremely aggressive communicator. House wasn’t bad but did have ants and overall somewhat musty. Fine place to stay, but owner is the definition of a Karen and would strongly advise avoiding her.

Winter break fun
Beautiful view and easy access to ski slopes. Spent evenings relaxing and fun in the hot tub overlooking the mountain scenery. Not to mention a few competitive games of corn hole on the deck. Fun was had by all in our large group.

Cabin Getaway
Really enjoyed our stay at this spacious cabin. Check in/out was a breeze. Very well stocked kitchen supplies and tons of sleeping space. The main complaint for me is the number of cameras overlooking most of the porch area. I understand the purpose but it felt excessive and intrusive.

Explored Gettysburg
We were 2 families that just wanted to get away for a long weekend and allow a fun, learning experience for ourselves & our kids in Gettysburg. That's exactly what we did. The house was just what we needed, with enough space for us to spread out when needed and come together to play a board game or watch a movie together to relax in the evening after a long day of learning. The kids loved basically having the basement and it was nice for the adults to have some space on the main levels. The house is beyond supplied with whatever you could need. In case you're wondering (because I was) there it's a large Crock-Pot/slow cooker in the kitchen, a standing mixer, a toaster oven, 2 fridge/freezer (1 in the basement) and 2 drip coffee makers with plenty of filters. The outside decks and grounds are beautiful and cared for. The kids tried to use the hot tub the first night but the chlorine smell was too overwhelming, so we nixed that and they didn't ask again, so I can't further comment on that, but clearly it was clean and looked very nice. The only other "issue" we had was just the lighting on the main level; we wanted to eat and play boardgames together with the kids, but the eating area was too dark so it wasn't great for that. This certainly didn't ruin our experience, we just adapted. We would stay again.

Perfect Woodsy Get Away
This property exceeded our expectations. It is nestled Into the Woods, yet close to activities. We were in Gettysburg in under 20 minutes and past a ski resort that would be only 5 minutes or less away. The hot tub and other amenities added to the relaxing atmosphere. I believe we will visit again!

July 4th is best in Gettysburg!
Our group of 8 really enjoyed the roominess and comfort of this home. All the amenities were there. We had 4 grandparents of which 2 had a slow go with all the stairs. Not a huge issue but once in the house, you either send the extra set of family up or down. We really liked sitting on the lower deck by the hot tub! Kids played ping pong and corn hole games. The beds were comfy and the large dining area was perfect. My only suggestion would be a deep cleaning of all the knick knack items or just remove a lot of them. Hagerstown, MD outlet stores had great discounts over 4th of July weekend. Fireworks were plentiful! We enjoyed an early dinner at Taverna 5450 just down the hill. Downtown Gettysburg is cute and quaint.

Great Location
This home had it all. 4 very comfortable bedrooms, 2 common areas, a well stocked kitchen and a hot tub! Very fun place to spend a few ski days. Terrific location-just over a mile to Ski Liberty but could actually see the slopes from home. Everything as described. Highly recommend. Will definitely return!

Perfect family home near Liberty Mountain
We planned a New Years getaway for our adult children and grandchildren and wanted to be close to Liberty Mountain Ski Resort. This lovely home fit the bill nicely. There are 4 comfortable bedrooms and a spacious communal area. The large dining table seats 10 and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. We all fit comfortably on the family room sectional sofa and relaxed watching the enormous big screen TV. As it turns out, Liberty was closed due to the warm temperatures but we still had a wonderful time. We went on a Gettysburg Ghost Hunt and did the driving tour of the battlefields as well. Staying at the Mountain Chalet was a great experience that we highly recommend!

Nice house, could use some minor updates
Hello! We really enjoyed our stay here. The location and setting were both beautiful. The appliances in the kitchen were all new, stainless steel, and fairly clean. There were plenty of newer dishes, silverware, and cups, as well as pots, pans, and cooking utensils. The furniture was all comfortable, although there was some light staining on the couch in the main living room. The bed on the main floor was a full, so the sleeping setup wasn’t conducive to three married couples. However, all the bedding was very clean and there were plenty of pillows. The deck is stunning and we could tell the lower deck was brand new. That was a great investment! The bathrooms were all recently redone or in the process of being redone, although two of the three had pretty tiny shower stalls and the full tub in the basement had a slow drain. There was plenty of toilet paper, towels, and washcloths provided, as well as beach towels for the hot tub. And the hot tub was in great shape and was clean. You can tell the owner is in the process of making quite a few upgrades to home and the landscaping. New evergreen trees and bushes had been planted and they were beginning construction on a pass through driveway. That will be a wonderful feature, as the current driveway is very steep and difficult to maneuver in - however there was plenty of space for parking and turning around. There was tons of outdoor lighting, most of it solar powered. The night we arrived, it was raining, dark, and none of the solar powered lights were working, so we had to haul all our stuff up two flights of steep, uneven, outdoor stairs in the dark. The motion lights only stayed on for a minute or so, so they weren’t much help. The decor in the house was cute - typical mountain cabin theme - with some cool pieces of art and some old cross country skis that were a nod to the nearby ski lodge. We all felt the house was pretty clean, although a little dusty in places. There is supposed to be cleaning that happens between stays, but we found crumbs on the floor, in the fridge, and a bag of stale cheese puffs on a table on the landing. While there, we tried our best to keep the house tidy, but felt that the owner may want to provide a broom, dust pan, and possibly a vacuum cleaner to help visitors clean up any messes on the floor. This would have been especially helpful since we had a toddler with us. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this house to anyone.

Beautiful, clean and cozy!
We were very pleased with our stay! There were 8 adults, 2 children and 2 babies and we were all very comfortable. Plenty of linens and towels provided, even beach towels for the hot tub. The kitchen was well supplied and felt bigger in person than the pics online. Everything was very clean. If we had any complaint it would bethe cameras. There are cameras on the decks and my family didn’t like the thought that we could be watched while we were outside. Not that we were doing anything wrong, it was just a bit invasive to privacy. However we understand the need to regulate those going in and out of the home, and maybe the homeowners had problems with that in the past. I’ve just stayed at many VRBO rentals and that was a first for me. Other than that, everything was perfect and close to Ski Liberty which was why we chose to stay there. I’d highly recommend!

The home was very nice. Kitchen was very well equipped. We had a storm and electricity went off and we could not find any candles or flashlights. The guys felt the driveway was not motorcycle friendly but they all made it work. The area is beautiful and we were very comfortable in the home,

Skier’s delight!
We will be back! To name a few things: Ease of access to the Liberty mountain (3 min drive), lots of kitchen cookware, great space spread over 3 floors (just begging for a second family to join us next time), smart TVs to link with in most rooms, a new hot tub on the deck!, laundry detergent provided, fuzzy warm blankets on each bed and responsive owners. We had some trouble finding the heating unit remotes, could use a slightly longer shower curtain in the top bedroom to prevent leakage and the light switches could be labeled a bit better, but this is just feedback and not a deterrent to staying here. We have 2 kids ages 4-7 and enjoyed the location and house immensely... especially the space between a suite on the 2nd floor and the room with two bunk beds in the basement ;) the vaulted ceilings and wall of windows allowed for a great view of the sun rising over the mountain and the Liberty frontside ski slopes. They even have a large stock of board games, puzzles and ping pong supplies.

Ski Weekend
We had two families (5 kids ages 4-8). The house was perfect. First, you can’t get a better location if you’re going to Liberty Mountain. You can see the slopes from the deck. Second, I had a LOT of questions. Kari was very responsive and provided all the info I was seeking. The inside of the house was big enough to easily accommodate our 2 families Without feeling squished in. Outside our kids loved playing in the snow and sledding around the house. We also saw 9 deer bedded down in the snow just yards from the house. It was picturesque. They had indoor games for entertainment. A new hot tub was a must for the adults after a day of skiing. No complaints, except that we couldn’t stay longer.
