Peaceful Hillside Refuge to Enjoy Aurora

Private and peaceful, this cozy cabin is located in boreal forest at the end of a private road close to Fairbanks. You will enjoy exclusive use of this retreat during your stay. The hooting of a great horned owl on the mountain behind the house is only rarely disturbed by the distant moan of the locomotive winding through the valley below. The property that this cabin and the main house sits on feels remote even though it is less than 15 minutes from shopping and Fairbanks International Airport.

Beautiful little house for overnight stay!
Dan was so easy to work with; loved the little house, perfect for a 1 or 2-night stay (we only could work in a 1-overnighter); clean, easy to access, enjoyed our stay very much; highly recommend!

A wonderful place to stay!
This has been a perfect place to stay. An Alaskan experience near the top of a mountain surrounded by trees and a beautiful sky. Great cozy cabin with everything we would need. The hosts were fantastic. Freshly laid eggs for breakfast from the owners little poultry farm next door. We hope to come back sometime!

Great little cabin in the woods!
We wanted to be out of the city. This little cabin was perfect! It’s also a bed and breakfast so the cabin is stocked with all kinds of food including snacks and soups. The quail eggs were the best! The decor as in furs and antlers and paintings are all from local artists and hunters and are available for purchase. Everything was beautiful comfy and warm.

Loved the remote feel, but that it was only 10min from town. Also, the homestead/cabin feel with farm fresh eggs and other items for breakfast along with a well- equipped kitchen for personal cooking. Games, books, movies, and a fully functional bathroom. Very cozy, welcoming, and extremely clean!

Absolutely incredible!
This cabin was everything and more than i wanted out of it! I wanted something close to town, but not close to people and this spot was perfect! I also truly appreciate having so many utensils, linens, food, and shower supplies already waiting for us in the cabin when we got there. Both me and my buddy absolutely adored this lil tiny paradise, and will definitely stay here again if i come back!

Yes, that’s what you will hear…nothing and it’s great. Very tidy cabin and great breakfast fixings for you to create your own breakfast. Right down the road and conveniently located near Running Reindeer Ranch. Thank you Clarity &Dan for your hospitality.

Perfect Accommodations for the Alaska Adventure
We visited Fairbanks in mid-April to see the Aurora Borealis and the Denali National Park, and wanted a rustic cabin just outside of town that gave us dark night skies and the tranquility of the wilderness. This cozy, well-kept property met our hopes perfectly. Dan and his family were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, giving us travel tips and helping us when our car became stuck in the snow. The cabin was well-equipped with all of the necessary conveniences, including a well-stocked kitchen (lots of fresh eggs from their flock) we used daily. Although the temperatures fell below 10 degrees at night, ample blankets and an oil stove kept us comfortable. Wi-fi reception was very good, as was the hot shower. It was difficult to leave after such a peaceful, relaxing time. We will be recommending this property to all of our friends and family, and will definitely be staying here the next time we are in Fairbanks.

Great Modern Cabin in the woods
We arrived at the cabin and found it just as described. It had everything we needed. We were a little concerned as while we were unloading, the mosquitoes were swarming, but that was the only time they were bad. I sat on the deck the next morning drinking coffee and did not see a mosquito. There were a few around in the evening but they were not bad. There were fresh eggs and bread and milk in the refrigerator and fresh fruit on the table. It was great for breakfast each morning. The cabin was a very great place for us as we explored the Fairbanks area. We were pleasantly surprised. The hosts answered our questions and were a good source of information. Very hospitable but only when we needed them, not imposing. If we make it back to Fairbanks we will check to see if the cabin is available again.

Peaceful getaway for two adventurers!
We flew in late to Fairbanks International arriving at 2am from Seattle. Due to our arrival time, the car rental companies were all closed, but a short 20 min cab ride to our warm cabin was amazing after traveling almost 24 hours. We were exhausted and ready to get some much needed rest. We slept a few hours and then were able to make a great breakfast and hot coffee from the fresh ingredients provided by Dan and Clarity. The cabin has many items available to help with the costs of staying in a VRBO. During our stay we visited Castner Ice Cave, Denali, Chena Hot Springs, drove the Dalton to the Arctic Circle and we day the Aurora! We unfortunately had a lot of cloudy weather near the cabin during our stay so we didn't get to see it from there, but our view was gorgeous nevertheless! It snowed several days, too. We were warm and cozy and appreciated the heated mattress pad! I didn't get to personally meet either of our hosts, but my husband did and he said they were very gracious and kind. All of my communication with them from before booking until we checked out has been excellent! Zero complaints! I would absolutely come back to this cabin again without hesitation. We stayed 9 nights total and there was nothing that we needed other than laundry facilities. We went to town and in an hour had our laundry done at Fairbanks Laundry. This cabin has its water brought in by tanker, which I was aware of, many cabins around the area are dry cabins.

The place is awesome, beautiful view and a very comfortable getaway. That being said I would be remiss if I didn't mention a few things. Dan, the property owner is an incredibly nice man and a hard working pilot, but for our stay he lost track of time and did not have it ready for our arrival, which at that moment was a bummer, but he scrambled and got everything done ASAP and made up for the inconvenience in a few unique ways. The only other mildly negative part of this stay for us was that the TV is an older dumb flat screen and it has a google device on it, but there is no remote for the google device so if you want to watch anything other than the generous collection of DVDs the only choice, at least in our case, is to cast to the google device with your phone. All that being said we will absolutely be staying at this beautiful hillside retreat again in the future. We loved the place, the bed was comfortable, the cabin was warm and cozy and we loved the decor. The decor made the place feel instantly homey in that uniquely Alaskan way. This place is perfectly located just far enough from *civilization * to feel like you are truely "out there" and yet the 15-20 minute drive to acquire modern conveniences seemingly flew by with the beautiful views from the mountainous backroads. From the deck one can see stunning sunsets through the idilic forested hillside and they have a suet birdfeeder located within plain view of the window providing views of cheery avian meals.
