"The property was comfortable and well equipped so it felt very much a home away from home which is what we were looking for. The only thing that would have improved the property was some planting to soften down the fencing of the outside area . The owner and the local contact were both really helpful and attentive and it was a nice touch to receive some veg from the land behind the house. All in all a good base for us to investigate wider area around Vejer as we had planned!"

"We had a wonderful relaxing 5 night stay at the Carin’s finca. Carin was a great host, the house was lovely, and the grounds, including the pool, are beautiful. Not only is it a great place to be but it’s really well located for exploring the area. From there we drove to Cádiz to explore the old town, observation tower, and cathedral; Jerez de la Frontera for it’s amazing castle and sherry tours; Tarifa for whale watching; and there are too many quiet and beautiful beaches to count. "The place was in an area where all homes apparently had to be behind giant fences and gates. You have to travel tiny, bumpy dirt roads to get there. The host was very strange towards me, making me feel uncomfortable on multiple occasions. She also has no problem just showing up at your supposedly private home and often pops out of her home when she sees you walking to your car (you have to walk by her home to leave or get to your parking spot). My rental car was also damaged while parked there....

"Lovely accommodation in a quiet, rural setting, just 5 minutes walk from amazing beach and sunsets. We really enjoyed our stay and had a very peaceful and relaxing time. Many thanks to Margarita who was there to meet us and answered all our questions. The house was lovely and clean and well furnished as shown in the photos. We would definitely recommend and hope to return soon."

"An amazing & beautiful area, of course. And inside house LOOKED good, but clock broken, shower only 3 minutes (no way to wash hair), toilet seat broken, unsafe equipmt on woodstove. Checkout time ruined due to conflicting time zones online. Owner & partner very friendly, but unrealistic. My stay there was pretty bad."

"This property is off the beaten path. The beach is in walking distance (very close) and the town of Barbate is a short drive away. It is a great house. The property features a pool and gardens. It is very peaceful. The house is well maintained. I would recommend this property is you are looking for a spot outside of town."

Host gave us good recommendations for a day trip - Bolonia Bay - with its gorgeous beach, sand dunes, wonderful Roman ruin and museum. "

"The setting, view ,garden etc is really lovely. The owner was helpful although initially entry and leaving gate system was complicated. The owner might think about repairing the cross bar under the table outside as it was too unsteady to eat on as we’re the chairs which also need repairing. It meant we couldn’t eat outside. Inside the draining board next to the sink leaked into the cutlery draws below and eventually all the way down to the floor. The cutlery was very old and tired and needs...

"Lovely hotel surrounded by a nice garden. Many seating areas to relax and have a drink, chat or play a game. (Early) check in was easy. Breakfast buffet was well stocked with many choices. Initially we got a key to a standard (poolside) room which was outdated. Highly recommend upgrading as our main building room was very nice. Personally I liked the historical look of the hotel with marble stairs, wooden floors and wrought iron."

Don't judge this book by its cover...

"Very unassuming from the outside, but with a spectacular interior. A wonderful lady at the reception. Conveniently located if you want to explore the old town and/or catch the ferry for a day trip to Morocco. For a fee, the hotel offers parking in an underground car park about 150 meters away - the only space available was too narrow for my midsize SUV, but there is an excellent public parking garage with valet service also just 150 meters away, and even slightly cheaper than what you would pay at the hotel."

Excellent staff, fantastic breakfast !

"Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful, great room with a very nice balcony. Breakfast was fantastic, fresh fruit, plenty of cooked options, good coffee. Lots of areas to sit and relax, it is a lovely hotel. Very close to the train station. I can highly recommend Hotel Mir Octavio and I would stay again"

"Truly outstanding property! We can’t say enough great things about our stay. The room was very clean, excellent amenities and great location. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
