Lavender Cottage, a luxury chocolate box cottage with wood burner in the lounge, has a large upstairs bathroom, a large downstairs shower room and an ensuite to the downstairs bedroom. In the ample private garden there is a Swedish sauna, a large private jacuzzi and an outside seating area.
This character beamed cottage, dating back to the early 1700s, is set within the historic village of Stoke Ash, with its award winning 17th century coaching inn.
This is a peaceful rural area and we please ask you to be respectful of our neighbours and ensure they are not disturbed by any noise between 10pm and 8am, from inside your holiday home, or from your holiday cottage garden. The hot tub switches off automatically at 10pm and reactivates at 8am. There is a surcharge of £99 if it is activated outside of these hours and it will be switched off automatically.
Please kindly note that the cottage price is for up to 4 guests, additional guests are £50 per guest per night which will automatically be added onto your reservation when you go through the booking process. If you would like additional guests for some of your nights, but not all, we will be very happy to send you over a request for this separately to your booking.

The historic market town of Diss, which is approximately a 10 minute drive from the cottage, has coffee shops and restaurants to enjoy and a park, with a children's play area, overlooking the Mere. Eye and Framlingham, communities with castles, independent shops including a chocolatier and butchers are close by, as are picture postcard villages.
Thornham Walks, with 12 miles of woodland walks around an historic estate are within a few miles and there are many beautiful lanes and sites to explore by bicycle too.
The Suffolk coast including communities of Aldeburgh and Southwold, the Norfolk Broads, Ipswich with river cruises on offer, and the cathedral cities and towns of Norwich and Bury St Edmunds bustling with history and fine restaurants, are all easily accessible for day trips.
Getting around:
Lavender Cottage is surrounded by fields and yet also within easy reach of the A140, A14 and hourly / half hourly intercity Norwich to Diss, Stowmarket, Ipswich, Manningtree, Colchester and London train line. The Norfolk Broads and seaside are all less than an hour’s drive away.
The village has it’s own taxi firm if you are arriving by train and is perfect for a self-catering holiday on the Suffolk / Norfolk border.
ELECTRIC CAR
You can find good charging stations at Morrisons and Tesco in Diss (approximately 8 miles from the cottage) and at ALDI in Stowmarket (approximately 11 miles from the cottage). The charge at the BP garage, Scole, near Diss (approximately 7 miles from the cottage) is a particularly fast charge station.
