Beautifully restored Charentaise house with private pool and stunning views

La Grange aux Buis is a stone farmhouse that has been renovated to a high standard and has kept many of its original features. It is situated on the top of a hill and has stunning views of rural France.

The house is very light and airy, boasting large rooms that are tastefully furnished. On entering the property there is an entrance with stairs leading to a gallery landing. On the ground
floor there is a large double bedroom with ensuite shower and seperate toilet. The lounge has the original fireplace and a woodburner. This room is an ideal place to come and relax.
There are 2 bedrooms upstairs. One has a shower ensuite and there is a family bathroom for the other. All bedrooms have televisions.
The 65 square metre kitchen lounge/diner has three french doors overlooking the private pool and terrace. The kitchen is very well equiped and has everything you could possibly need for a perfect holiday. There is a large central reservation with seating for 6. However, you can always sit at the table which seats up to 8.
Outside next to the pool there is a seating area with a table for eight. You can sit and eat here while looking over the beautiful french countryside.
The house is surrounded by vineyards and is the perfect place to come and relax. However in 45 mins you could be on the sandy beaches of Royan or you could be in heart of some of the most beautiful places in France, such as Bordeaux, St Emillion, Cognac and Angouleme.
There is a covered parking area for 2 cars.

A Wonderful Choice
My family and I had a marvellous three-week stay at this lovely property. Chris and Caroline were excellent hosts and had attended to every detail with care and attention. This was declared the best holiday ever by all the family. The pool was particularly popular with everyone. It is a lovely area for a family holiday, and we enjoyed every minute of it.

Just got back from two weeks in this stunning property. It really is beautiful and the hosts Caroline and Chris could not have been more helpful. There is so much space both inside and out to keep everyone from teenage boys to grandparents happy. We spent an amazing peaceful two weeks in the property. I can't decide if my favourite spot is the dining area outside where we spent nearly every meal, or the beautiful kitchen area where we all congregated after dark. Thank you so much for having us.

We absolutely loved our stay in Expiremont. Chris and Caroline were wonderful hosts. The property is beautiful, and thoroughly set up for children and families staying. Our children loved the pool, various games and dvds that were there, and the badminton and table tennis in the stunning garden area. The property has stunning views of the rolling Charente countryside and vineyards. Would thoroughly recommend.

The home was fantastic for ourselves and out adult children and grandchildren. We stayed 2 weeks and everyone else came and went as their time allowed. Amazing and beautiful Gite in a truly stunning setting!
Caroline and Chris were the perfect hosts and deserve great credit for creating an amazing Gite with everything you could wish for! 'Le Nook' is beautifully decorated and is in a stunning setting in the middle of the rolling French countryside. I would recommend 'Le Nook' to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing place to stay. The pool and surrounding gardens wouldn't look out of place at the Chelsea Flower Show and reflect the care and attention put into them by Caroline & Chris. Panoramic views and a wonderful setting
We really enjoyed our 11 days here. The property is well described on the website, though perhaps understating the beautiful garden which has more roses, geraniums and petunias than anywhere we've seen outside RHS Wisley. The accommodation is compact but entirely sufficient and well equipped. A door from the bedroom to the pool area would shorten the route from kitchen to the magnificent shaded eating area but the exercise does no harm! Expiremont is not at the heart of tourist France which means that places of interest involve a little more travelling but the up side of this is that the places to visit are not overrun with fellow Brits and are authentic France. We were certainly not disappointed. Chris and Caroline are excellent hosts with a good knowledge of where to go and what to do and, within the limits of sharing the same site, are sensitive to giving us the free run of the place.

Le Nook is both quaint & chic, a literally idyllic base with stunning views across the French countryside. Hosts Caroline & Chris are lovely and have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. The property is conscientiously maintained from the lovingly tendered flora & fauna, to the spotlessly clean pool, bbq & outside eating area. The accommodation is also spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable with charming personal touches such as fresh flowers in the kitchen and cheese & wine on arrival. Cannot recommend this place enough, thank you for a wonderful stay.

Awesome gite and lovely hosts
We stayed at Le Nook for 2 weeks and we had a lovely time. The gite is very tastefully decorated and has everything you need for a pleasant and comfortable stay. The pool area has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and has plenty of comfortable seating . It is the ideal place to relax. Caroline and Chris were very welcoming and the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and they were there whenever we needed them. We honestly cannot think of sufficient words to praise them enough. If you are thinking of visiting this area then you must stay at Le Nook. We hope to return!

Absolutely FANTASTIC
We have just stayed at Le Nook for two weeks - despite being unlucky with the weather in the first week, we have ha d a wonderful holiday. Le Nook is top notch quality wise and Caroline and Chris are wonderful hosts, ensuring you have absolutely everything you need for a fabulous holiday. The pool, garden and views (far reaching over vineyards and sunflower fields) are brilliant and the location ideal for exploring La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Saint Emillion, Cognac and many more. The property is between Montendre and Jonzac - both nice towns, particularly the latter, with its beautiful Chateau. We really want to visit again and explore more of the area. A wonderful Gite in a quiet rural setting - Perfect for a relaxing holiday
Firstly - Our welcome from Caroline and Chris was absolutely lovely - we got on so well with them. The Gite 'Le Nook' is beautifully decorated with very comfortable stylish furnishings and all the home from home items that you need to enjoy your stay - an excellent bed and plenty of hot water in the bathroom - But it is the extra things that make it a perfect place to stay - the knowledge of Caroline and Chris about the area was fantastic and helped us a lot, then the style of the house - the quality of everything - the colours and how everything was put together - the bookshelves, the box with all the leaflets for the places to visit and it's wonderful location made us smile every morning. Our experience here was Amazing and we would highly recommend this Perfect Property for your French Holiday

Caroline et Chris sont des personnes formidables et à l’écoute de leurs hôtes et on fait preuve de beaucoup de gentillesse et d’attention à notre égard. La maison est belle (ancienne ferme charentaise rénovée), propre et décorée avec beaucoup de goût. La vue est magnifique et l’environnement d’un calme reposant. Il y a une belle piscine mais nous n’en avons pas vraiment profité à cause du temps. Nous vous recommandons les yeux fermés cette propriété !
