Reviving Everglades City
You can tell how lovingly and stylistically Cypress Cottage was designed and built. From the modern yet rustic charm of the outside to the way the water's reflection cascades across the living room and kitchen ceilings during the morning hours, you can how much thoughtful detail went into this home. Modern amenities such as Nest thermostat, smart TV's and digital door lock made us (a family that works in tech) feel at ease. The home was spotless and shout out to the local housekeeper for not only maintaining the home's cleanliness but saving us from desperation when we locked ourselves out the house (and the passcode to get back in was on our phone, inside of the home).
Perfect for fishing and relaxing on the dock. We were able to dock a 22 ft boat there but be warned that you want to wait until the tide comes in after 10am before shoving off. Pay no attention to complaints about water pressure. South Florida is notoriously bad with water pressure. Yes, this home is located on a main road, but it is NOT a busy one. There is literally one road in and one road out of this town of 380 people. No stores for 25 miles so either stop before arriving (before jumping on the 41 in Miami) or drive north to Naples (easy drive but it will still take you 20 minutes to get there). Don't count on the good food reviews for local eateries. Dining out in Everglades City is not worth the $$$$ or gastrointestinal aftermath.
