Welcome to our river home which we affectionately refer to as Camp Shoop.
Our riverfront home is picturesquely nestled along the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River in Everett, Pennsylvania. At our unique location, you may immerse yourself in the great outdoors while enjoying the indoor comforts of home.
Camp Shoop boasts an open concept kitchen/living space with custom cabinetry, granite countertops and a stone wood-burning fireplace. The space opens onto an expansive deck that offers with lovely river views with comfy seating. A cozy sunroom is just off the kitchen.
The spacious master bedroom offers a king size bed and a luxury bath with double sinks, an oversized shower and soaking tub. A cozy private deck is attached. The second bedroom offers a queen size bed with a full bath while the third bedroom offers full-over-full bunk beds with its own half bath.
Location,
Pharr Road is a gravel lane that runs alongside the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River. The lane is home to us and to 17 other property owners. You’ll find three homes among a number of seasonal cottages and campers. The low lying area is subject to somewhat routine river flooding leaving us all in a cycle of clean-up and repair from time to time. Most of the structures along the lane are well kept.
Pets,
We permit a maximum of two well behaved, housetrained dogs. We provide a large crate for their use when they are unattended indoors. A portion of the front yard is fenced.
Outdoors,
Our home rests on approximately an acre of property with a large (partially fenced) front yard, a covered pavilion, a grilling area and two outdoor firepits. The river and the lane are in the front. Out back there is a wooded hill that abuts to a farmer’s field at the top. On one side is a cottage and on the other is a home.
A cargo lift is available to send your heavy bags up to the entry level.
We provide six kayaks for guest use. A permit is not required to float the Juniata, however, each kayak bears a state issued launch permit for their use at nearby Shawnee state park in the event that river conditions are not conducive for a river float. Note: You will need a vehicle sufficiently equipped to transport the vessels to your drop-in and/or pickup points.
About us,
Our custom home was built new as a modest structure in 2009. By reinvesting our rental income back into the property, we’ve since doubled our size and added countless amenities that we are pleased to share and with our valued guests.
When you book your stay at Camp Shoop, you will communicate directly with us, the owners. We know our property inside and out and are happy to answer any and all of your questions to ensure our home is a mutual good fit.
Thanks for considering Camp Shoop. We look forward to hosting your stay.
