Enjoy my 3BR home 2 blocks from the edge of downtown in a quiet riverfront cabin community (STR #6089). Features a hot tub, gazebo and picnic area, and you can literally walk 40 feet from your bedroom to fish. Relax in the hot tub after a long day in the mountains & enjoy the fireplace in the kitchen/dining area. Relax in a comfy reading chair chair, leather sofa, or giant bean bag. Perfect for couples or groups up to 6. New paint, carpet & 55" TV!
Real quick -- some house rules:
- There are other cabins in my riverfront neighborhood. It's quiet and peaceful, but not a good fit if you're looking for seclusion. You will have neighbors!
- Check in is 4pm or later; check out is 10am or earlier; no early check in or late checkouts.
- No smoking inside, outside or even in neighborhood (HOA rules)
- No fire pits; no parties; no pets.
- 2 cars & 6 guests max.
- Guests must load/start dishwasher and start a laundry load of towels/hand towels/washcloths at checkout (we have negotiated a lower cleaning fee based on this).
- Hot tub open year round.
★★★★★ PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE TWO BATHROOMS; ONE HAS A SHOWER/TUB AND ONE HAS JUST A TUB ★★★★★
Onward!
This beautiful, cozy cabin is located in the most perfect spot in Estes Park, literally on the edge of the Big Thompson River about a block and a half from the edge of downtown. The cabin features a huge, open living/dining area with lots of sunlight, a private hot tub, a gazebo with a BBQ for outdoor living, and a river with some fishing. I am a photographer by profession and have decorated the walls with my favorite images of the area. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them!
Past guests have raved about this property:
"We loved the hot tub, the stars, and sitting by the river after dark."
"Nathan's beautiful cabin along the river was just amazing and we seemed so 'at home' there."
"More spacious than it looks in pictures!"
"It truly was a home away from home."
"The hot tub is world class."
"We loved sitting down by the river and grilling dinner each night!"
When you're here, you can leave the car behind, avoid the traffic of downtown, and just walk a block and a half to the edge of downtown, where you'll find restaurants, bars and shops. At the same time, it's on a private side road with no traffic, allowing you to have all the benefit of being centrally located without having to deal with the congestion. Additionally, the National Park entrance is a quick 5 minute drive from the front door.
This unit is meant for people seeking peace and tranquility; it is absolutely not a party house at all. Also note that smoking inside or outside is prohibited, as are fire pits. Also, the easiest way to navigate there is via a tiny small mini storage facility a block away. I direct people that way so they don't get lost and because it's paved and plowed in winter.
Water Dance (the cabin’s name) is tastefully decorated with mountain and cabin-themed decor, complete with beautiful handmade Amish furniture.
BEDROOMS
This home has 3 separate bedrooms with 4 beds in total.
Bedroom 1 - The master suite features a gorgeous, hand-made log bed with an Olympic queen mattress and private bathroom.
Bedroom 2 - A queen bedroom with a slider door opening out toward the river. I love sleeping here on warm summer nights to hear the sounds of the river through the screen door.
Bedroom 3 - Perfect for kids, featuring two twin beds.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a blender, coffee maker, fridge/freezer, pots and pans, cutlery, silverware, baking supplies, and all the gadgets and utensils you can imagine. There's a great breakfast bar and a kitchen table. The open living space also features a huge couch you can sink into, as well as additional seating, all centered around a cozy gas fireplace.
There's fast WiFi as well as a 55-inch 4K flat panel television in the living room with Sling, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and a host of other streaming television services. You can watch sports, news and movies to your heart's content.
The outside area is shaded thanks to tons of mature trees. You will likely see deer or elk grazing on the grass. When summer arrives, all the plant foliage will grow thick, and you'll hear the leaves rustling all day in harmony with the breeze.
Many of the town's top restaurants and attractions are all within a short walk: the Estes Park Brewery and Rock Cut Brewery, the China Garden restaurant, The Barrel bar, Sweet Basilico Restaurant (tasty Italian food with great pizza), and much more.
In the same 2 block radius is a liquor store, a winery, a couple of food trucks (parked at Rock Cut -- sometimes you'll find fried chicken and other times you'll find a crepe truck). Be sure to walk to the gondola during the summers; it goes up Prospect Mountain and offers breathtaking views of the continental divide, the national park, and the entire Estes Park valley. The kids can walk a block to Fun City and enjoy the bumper boats and bumper cars, mini golf, a giant slide, a bungee trampoline, and go-cart racing. A half block away is the super fun aerial obstacle course of the Open Air Adventure Park. Some of these attractions are closed seasonally, so please check them out on the Internet.
The free summer shuttle bus that goes all over town has a stop a half a block away, so you can board it and get around for free.
The place is extremely family friendly, though it is on the edge of a river so be sure to supervise your kids, particular during the early summer when the snow starts to melt and the water level rises.
This is a fully furnished, private cabin that you have complete access to! That includes a master suite with a bedroom and bathroom; a room with 2 twin beds, a second bathroom, a third bedroom with a queen bed, an outdoor gazebo with a picnic area and BBQ, a hot tub, and swinging chair on the edge of the river, and a 450 s/f deck wrapping around the edge of the house. The unit has two private off street parking spots.
I live in Estes Park and know the town and the National Park like the back of my hand. I moved here in 2006 and am a photographer specializing in weddings and family portraits. I have spent the years since climbing, hiking, skiing, cycling and adventuring in and around Rocky Mountain National Park and am happy to offer advice on the best hikes, drinks, dining and adventures in the area. I'm just a quick text or email away! Otherwise please be in touch with my co-host and house manager Nancy who will also be helping a lot during your stay!
If you don't want to bother cooking, simply walk a half block to the best pizza/Italian (Sweet Basilico), brewery (Rock Cut), and chinese food (The China Garden) in the city. In the summers, the Two Chicks chicken food truck is often parked outside Rock Cut on the edge of the creek.
Estes Park has a free shuttle network that goes all over the town and into the National Park. The brown line has a stop a half block from this unit, so you can hope on and pretty much go everywhere. In general, the shuttles run late June to mid-September.
FIRES/SMOKING
This is a smoke- and fire-free zone. That means no smoking inside or out, and no fire pits. I'll be fined by my HOA if this rule is violated, and you will be asked to leave.
NOISE
Events, loud music and noises, and parties are strictly prohibited. Please be respectful of your noise level so I can maintain good relationships with my neighbors. This is especially true when in the hot tub because a neighbor bedroom is nearby!
The house is equipped with NoiseAware which measures sound levels and alerts me if things are too loud so I can give you a heads up. NoiseAware does not record content, it only measures noise levels so your privacy is 100% guaranteed. Guests are not to unplug it (I will also be alerted if that happens).
NONPAYING GUESTS
Insurance forbids nonpaying and non-registered guests on property. There are motion sensitive security cameras on the outside of the building which will pick up nonpaying guests.
ADDITIONAL GUEST FEE
There is an additional charge per person for your stay after the first two guests. The platform will automatically calculate the total when you input dates and guest count.
AIR CONDITIONER
Like nearly every other home in Estes, this unit does not have A/C. Thankfully it’s on the bank of a river so if you open up the windows, it’ll cool down fast.
BEARS
Do NOT leave food in your car! Bears frequent this area and can break in!
MINUT
We use a Minut noise meter. It doesn't record audio, but instead monitors decibel levels, temperature and humidity. This is for the safety of guests & to protect the home. It also serves to warn us about parties & prevent noise complaints from neighbors. It's located on the cieling in the hallway.
No smoking inside or out, and no fire pits -- I'll be fined by my HOA! No burning wood in gas fireplace! Ensure your guest count is correct as there is a per-person guest fee after the first two people. Check in is 4pm or later; check out is 10am or earlier. Early check-ins and late check-outs cannot be accomodated. To repeat my listing description: 1 bathroom has a shower/tub combo, and the other bathroom only has a shower. Absolutely no parties or loud noise. There is a very strict no pets policy with my HOA. No illegal downloading or illegal use of the Internet. You WILL be reported for violations. My cleaning fee is low for this size property because I ask guests to give my cleaners a head start. Please run a load of wash with towels before you leave; that way they can put them in the dryer and run a second load with the linens when they arrive. Also please load the dishwasher and turn it on so they can unload it when they arrive.
