Rustic retreat with amazing views, abundant wildlife, convenient location.

This 1950's log cabin vacation rental in Estes Park, Colorado(approval 20-NCD0371), offers 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a large covered front porch, outstanding views, a fully furnished kitchen, laundry room, free internet, 50+ inch smart TV with DVD player in the Living Room and tv’s in the Master Bedroom and both upstairs bedrooms. There are breathtaking views from every room in the house. Effort has been made to maintain the vintage charm while updating and furnishing the home. Many of the items are unique, vintage, and one of a kind. Although it is very close to Estes Park and all the activities, shopping, and restaurants, it sits just off the main road and is surrounded by open space so you are away from the road and have a private feel. You can be in town or to the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance in about 7 minutes and there is fishing as well as a trolley stop .2 mi. up the road in front of Estes Park Campground at Mary' Lake that runs during the summer. The 2 car garage interior has been finished so it is now the ultimate picnic shelter right across from our outdoor picnic area. It is stocked with outdoor games and extra tables and chairs for those who would rather sit under a roof.

Outside there are numerous places to enjoy the view. Our favorite spot is from the covered front porch, which is furnished with rocking chairs during summer months. There is a custom picnic table in the front yard . To the north of the cabin is an open area with a fire pit, iron benches, and log seats where you can play games or sit, enjoy s’mores, view the stars and overlook the valley. We have badminton , corn hole, and a giant Jenga game for outdoors as well as many games, puzzles and books inside for all ages. There is a convenient ramp so you can enter the cabin without having to carry your belongings down stairs. When you exit there is a road through the field that connects back to the road. We see elk and deer, along with many other forms of wildlife, almost every time we visit, especially in the early morning and evening. They love to drink from the pond and munch on the Aspen and Willows that grow along the stream.

The living room features beautiful hand made aspen furniture, a comfy queen sofa sleeper, 50 inch TV, wood burning fireplace and several rocking chairs, including a recliner.
The dining room features a pine trestle table that was hand made by Mennonite craftsman and 6 sturdy pine chairs. There is also a pine bench for additional seating and a corner cabinet filled with games and puzzles.
There is a fully furnished kitchen with newer appliances and everything you would need to cook for your group, whether it be a casual dinner or a full Thanksgiving meal. We have a set of nicer stone wear as well as melamine dishes and cups. There are several coffee makers, crock pots, microwave safe options for cooking and heating, waffle maker, electric griddle, toaster, all new cookware and utensils as well as a few vintage items for your use during your stay.
The Master Bedroom, on the main floor, has a queen log bed, bench, TV stand with storage and ample closet space. One upstairs bedroom has an antique queen bed, a comfy leather chair poised to take advantage of the views, a dresser, nightstand, and closet. The other upstairs bedroom has 2 single bed options, log dresser, and a closet. The upper level also has a reading/nook with a desk where you can work while enjoying the view. There is wi-fi access to a myriad of viewing options using your online accounts such as Netflix, Amazon, and Roku, and a library of DVDs, books, puzzles, and games. We have installed a retractable gate at the top of the stairs so that if you have smaller children you can close and lock it when you are upstairs. We have also kept all cleaning supplies up and out of reach.

We are a licensed vacation rental . A recent survey suggests over 70% of the vacation rentals operating the Estes area are illegal. Legal licensed vacation rentals in the Estes area must meet local building codes, safety requirements, parking requirements, pay taxes and provide commercial insurance. Illegal unlicensed vacation rentals can be shut down anytime, even during your vacation. They often don’t meet local code and can be unsafe for you and your family. Always ask for the license number for any vacation rental you are considering using for your vacation.
Aspen Acres was available for the first time to the general public in July of 2017. All the beds are comfortable. The city does require a lodging tax for rentals of less than 30 days. We provide complimentary coffee, tea, spices, paper products, shampoo, soap, firewood and other convenience items! We challenge you to compare prices and features. We believe once you visit, you will become a frequent returning guest. We have complementary coolers, travel thermos, refillable water bottles, shopping bags, freezer bags, etc. for your use during your stay. We are continually improving and adding items we think visitors will appreciate and enjoy. So far, everyone who had stayed at our cabin had just loved it and left us wonderful notes and reviews. We strive to provide a 5 star experience.
If you are coming to celebrate a special occasion let me know and for a little extra I can have banners, cake, etc there and ready for you. There is a Country market and deli within one mile near the corner of Mary's Lake and Moraine Ave so it is easy to stock up on your way to the cabin.

Great location, beautiful setting this was perfect accommodation.
Looking for a place for myself and some relatives to stay that was close to Estes. This was perfect, quiet and quaint destination for my two year old niece as well as both my Aunts and my cousins. Great homeaway!

The cabin was a great choice! Mary made sure everything we needed was available for us to use.
The cabin was a great place to relax after hiking all day! Everyone enjoyed the deer and elk walking through the front yard. It wasn’t far from town when we went shopping yet provided a serene place to relax. We would definitely return for another stay!

Perfect location
This cabin was perfect for our family of 6 from 2.5 years to 68. The location, accessiblity, and being just far enough away from the city bustle was perfect for us. We loved how fully stocked the kitchen was to meet our daily needs and how relaxing the set-up was in the rest of the house. The gliding rockers were perfect for snuggling with our grandchild. Mary was a perfect hostess, responding quickly to our every need.

Cozy home. Gorgeous views. Comfy beds. There was enough room for all 6 of us! Fully stocked kitchen. Nice location. Minutes away from RMNP entrance. Also a nice grocery store that we love to shop at! We saw elk and deer in the yard! Would definitely recommend!

Nice cabin in a convenient setting
We had three people staying at this property for a week in the summer season. We liked the location, as it's a mile or two outside the summer crush of downtown Estes Park, but within quick driving distance of a grocery store and gas station. The cabin itself was well-appointed, and sits on three acres that is frequented by elk and other wildlife that drink from a small pond. If it had a dishwasher, I'd have given it 5 stars. Nice place to stay.

Genuine Rocky Mountain experience!
Property is amazingly authentic and comfortable. Everything you want. Such attention to details and necessities to make you comfortable. Saw elk several times. The view is incredible. The proximity to the park made hiking expeditions in the park so easy. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Great place to stay!
The listing was accurate. The property is very close to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. They also have tons of toys my baby enjoyed playing with. As mentioned in the listing, there isn't AC. It isn't a huge problem but when the high is 80 degrees, it does get a little warm in the upstairs bedrooms. Other than that, it's a perfect place to stay, and we would definitely stay here again!

An Enjoyable way to spend Christmas with the family
We enjoyed ourselves completely. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We just added our Christmas stockings and were ready to celebrate Christmas. The grandkids enjoyed exploring the outdoors with their dad. There was enough room for them to run around and run off some steam. We are hoping to do this at some other time. It was great fun and beautiful. Vicky

Mary Doty, the owner was very kind and assisted us with all needs. We enjoyed our stay.
As is the case with life nothing is perfect but this cabin came close. I would only suggest that the upstairs bathroom needs a latch to use the bathroom in priracy, also one of the upstairs rooms has no heater and the room get cold at night. Lastly we found a dead mouse in the lower cabinet when pulling out a pan to use and this was a bit upsetting for the girls but on a positive note we saw mouse traps. Our overall experience was positive and we are thankful for this. We would come back again because the cabin is cozy and the area so beautiful.

Great location, Well stocked, Nice place
We loved the location. Wildlife through the property each day. The house was very well stocked. Nice having privacy around us on the lot. Communication with host was good. The only thing keeping us from putting 5 starts is a mouse that was in the lower bedroom and ate and got in a lot of our food in the kitchen. This alone is not good but our host new this was an issue. It would have been nice to have been made aware of this so we could keep our food not in the fridge in harder to place contianers or areas.

Beautiful Modernized Log Cabin With All Amenities
The only reason for anyone not to give Aspen Acres 5 stars is to keep this gem "below the radar" so others won't find it! We had a wonderful stay there in late Sept. with our two adult daughters, son-in-law and 10-month old granddaughter. It was very clean upon arrival and has all the amenities you'll ever need ... and then some! The owner, Mary, has put a lot of thought into what families might need during their vacation stay and has tried hard to fill those needs. Just a few examples: games and books for adults, toys for kids of all ages, a permanent child gate at the top of the stairway to the 2nd floor bedrooms, a desk in the loft, not one but two types of coffee makers, dozens of kitchen utensils and pans and pots, chopped wood in plastic cans (to keep it dry) next to an outside firepit, and even Hershey bars, graham crackers, marshmallows, and stainless steal sticks/skewers to make S'mores. The cabin is only 3-4 minutes from town but with its 3 acres and pond in front, it clearly feels out in the country. There was more than enough room for all of us to spread out, including on the large, covered front porch overlooking the pond. We'll no doubt be back!

Great place to stay!
The property was beautiful and met the need for our family of 5. The owners were easy to work with and considerate! It was cute, well stocked, and extremely convenient for everything we wanted to do. My only "complaints" aren't even complaints, just feedback for those booking the property. 1. It's not as remote as you may make it in your head when looking at the pictures, it is on a busy road but you are set back enough from the road that the only real impact on your stay is hearing the road noise when you are sitting outside - I was still able to relax and read for hours outside. 2. There are only 3 beds, 2 upstairs and 1 downstairs. I'm sure this is clear in the description but I read that there were 4 beds including 2 singles. It was actually 3 beds, one single bed and one single air mattress, had 3 teenagers (19G,17B,16B) and only 2 beds. There is a fold down couch, 2 air mattresses and a playpen in addition to the beds but having to pick who gets shafted to an alternate bed when you are on vacation for a week isn't an easy conversation.

The best location in Estes park
It’s so easy to get to and so close to downtown and RMNP but somehow isolated from it all. Even with a ton of snow we were easily able to get to the cabin and had no problems. There’s a grocery store 2 min away so don’t feel like you need to go first before checking in. The kitchen is stocked with lots of pantry essentials like coffee and spices and all the gear you need to really cook meals at home. SO CONVENIENT and incredibly cozy and homey. No issues with being cold inside even though it was 10 outside with 40mph winds. Lots of heaters and well insulated. Mary did a great job with the beds and towels and all that so you really feel like you’re at home. The views are INCREDIBLE!!! We just stared at the window and watched the mountains change with the light and clouds. We saw elk and coyotes. WiFi was awesome and necessary bc we got no cell service. This let us FaceTime our kids back home and use the Internet. We didn’t have kids with us this trip but we loved how the house is set up to be super accommodating for families. We found some toys in the closet and spare diapers in the bathroom. It’s just little touches like this that we really appreciate. Could not have asked for a better rental. It’s also a total steal. ;) can’t wait to go back!!!

Great Getaway!
The cabin was very well equipped/stocked with anything that you would normally have in your home. The owners were very accommodating and available at all times. There is abundant wildlife (i.e. deer, birds, rabbits, etc.) to watch at dawn and dusk and the view of the mountains was beautiful. We will definitely rebook on a future return trip!

Amazing place for an amazing trip
My family and I stayed here for the Rocky Mountain National Park part of our Denver family vacation. The hosts were responsive and lovely, the entire place was fully stocked and great for a family trip. The outdoor games were a favorite of my kids (especially the foosball). One of the best experiences we have had.

Cozy Cabin Close to RMNP
Mary's cabin was very comfortable for our group of 4. The kitchen was well equipped and contained everything necessary to prepare meals, including basic supplies such as cooking oil and spices. The front porch, while facing a road which was heavily travelled at times, was a great place to relax at the end of a day in the park. There was a well-stocked market and gas station nearby and the primary eastern entrance to RMNP was just a few minutes drive. The downtown area was also only several minutes away. One possible concern for anyone with mobility issue is that you must manage several stairs in order to access the property from the driveway. The other being that there is no AC, and while the windows provide great airflow, hot weather may make the cabin uncomfortably warm, especially in the upstairs bedrooms. Overall, though, a great place.

great location for my Family
My wife and I brought the Grand kids here as one of the last legs of our 15 day road trip. This place was the perfect stop to wind down and relax in the evening on the porch. and still close enough to town for us to enjoy shopping during the day. It was close to the entrance of Rocky Mountain national Park were we also ventured to during our stay at the cabin. there were plenty of outdoor games for the kids to enjoy and enjoy they did. We all loved it and will return again.

Gateway to RMNP
Terrific cabin on the. Western edge of Estes Park, minutes from an entrance to RMNP. Close to a grocery, restaurants and numerous shops. Cabin is cozy and well appointed. Contains all you need for a great stay. A special treat was the herd of 20+ Elk that decided to make the front yard their playground and diner for the night. That was awesome as they came right up to the front porch. Highly recommend this property.
