Two things I didn't like were the fact that I arrived by train and they no longer transport you from the arrival platform to the hotel. THis could be a real problem in winter! Secondly, the dinner menu was very limited to what it was on my last visit and no real breakfast or lunch menu.

Check in staff was very rude. They try to send you a code with you room entry code but there is little cell reception when driving there from any direction. The top floor room had low ceiling beams that we hit our heads on and the microwave is installed on the floor as well.

Dinners were very good, would like to have sit-down breakfast, maybe shouldn't be open for customers until construction and cleanup is complete. Contractors were still working in basement after Dinner. Had to ask desk to have them stop. Won't be back. Disappointed.

I really enjoyed my stay. The property is in a beautiful area right next to the railroad tracks. It can be loud but I found the trains coming through very soothing. The room was small but the space was adequate for my needs. It was also clean and the bed was very comfortable. Look forward to coming back with family next summer.

Beautiful and conveniently located. Unique, picturesque rooms. No utilities close by so make sure you have what you need. Only negative was the trains driving by sometimes woke us up, but it was so beautiful we didnt mind that. Definitely will be back.

Restaurant on property is fantastic, staff was great. We LOVED Arlo! Also, big train enthusiasts, so the rail traffic was exciting! If the sound of trains bother you, and you must have cell service, look for another place! If you want to meet people and have a great time, book it!

It is a historic inn in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains. Room was small but clean and had adequate supplies. I didn't know there was a railway track behind. Trains were coming and going regularly and was noisy during those times.

The old Izaak Walton is peaceful and beautifully located. No tvs is fine by me. Lots of great outdoor activities nearby in all seasons. Good stay.

Finding Caboose #6 was not good - there was no visible sign to road off highway - once you were on the road it was a dirt road with many potholes. There were signs to cabins but no signs to to caboose. I wouldn’t stay in that caboose area again. There was no bar open and no microwave to warm up pastry we bought

This refurbished hotel is near Glacier Park. It was originally called the Isaac Walton Inn. New owners have done a great job of renovation. It also has several remodeled caboose rail car accommodations. We stayed in one of these on an earlier trip with our two young grandsons and they loved it! A very friendly staff. This new remodel just opened Labor Day 2024

This property is a historic hotel undergoing renovations. Some rooms are off site and need to be access by an unpaved dirt road. There is an elevated bridge that connects these room to the main lodge. The staff at the lodge are super friendly and can be reached anytime by text. Our room was off site. The room was large and the bed very comfortable.

This property is not as advertised of Expedia. The website in the Expedia listing stated there was a restaurant a bar Jacuzzi lodge with multiple games like foosball and billiards and none of that was available and none of that was disclosed. We ended up being in a retrofitted antique caboose on the other side of a freight train yard required a 1.5 mile drive up and over the train tracks and then upper very rough dirt road with potholes to a spot on the ridge overlooking the train yard and the lodge there was a foot bridge that you could take to the lodge, but the lodge was being renovated and shut down, and there was no one really there to assist us in fact when we went over there, they wouldn’t even even assist us nor let us in. Staff is non existent None of this was disclosed until the day of check in when they sent saying we should go shopping first as the restaurant was closed. The oven did not light so we could cook our frozen pizza. This is a very isolated location had I’ve been disclosed at the restaurant and bar were not operating. We certainly would not have reserved there. I’ve been practicing a 30 for 30 years and I’ve never seen a more egregious false advertising situation in which customers are misled by the representations online and I am seriously considering a class action lawsuit against the company. Hotel is still under renovation and we did not find either front desk or Cafe. But instruction on the building/in the cabin is clear, key release is timely after registration, room is tight but clean and well equipped, surrounding forest is beautiful. Pleanty wild berries, too. Pleasant experience overall.

I have been visiting the Izaak Walton for most of my life and each time is special. Yes it might be an older building and have occasional problems related to age but the inn is possibly the most unique in all of Montana. The staff are always top notch and professional and the location is amazing!
