It's one of the best Vrbo places we've ever stayed at. Beautiful, modern, and well stocked. Really clean, in a beautiful place with amazing views.

A wonderful home with great views — we loved the location because you are ‘in nature’ ,,, and the owners provide all the amenities you need to make your time in Escalente enjoyable.
A quick getaway to the desert with family and this was the perfect house. We had 6 in our group, we were very comfortable, plenty of space. Loved the location, the outdoor living, beautifully appointed interior. Absolutely would stay here again.
This house is a modern, architecturally designed home. It was clean, well apportioned, and nice outdoor space. It was only my wife and I staying there so we had lots of room. It would be great for a large family gathering. Location, location, location.
Our family of six fit comfortably in this rental but it can easily fit more. My kids spent hours in the eggshell chairs on the patio. As the week dried out, we were able to visit more and more of the local trails. We will have to come back and when we do, we would choose Birch Creek House again.
We loved our stay at Birch Creek house. The layout of the rooms and large common area were perfect for our family - my husband, me, our two children, their spouses, and our two grandchildren ages 5 and 7. The children loved the creek. The location was great for exploring Escalante NM and Spencer (host) was wonderfully responsive.
Such a nice property, private but close to town. My kids loved it and referred to it as the “fancy house.” Everything was perfect. Just need some bubble bath for that tub!
The house is beautiful and spacious, a perfect location to feel secluded without actually being far from town and trails. We had two families together with 8 teenagers and 4 parents, and everyone had plenty of space and privacy. The main living area had plenty of room to spread out. The host was quick to respond when we had a few questions. Perfect lodging in every way!
This modern lovely 3 bedroom - each with its own bath - home on beautiful Birch Creek in Escalante was just what we were looking for as part of our Utah hiking trip. We were 3 retired couples and everyone was very comfortable. The view of the cottonwoods in brilliant Fall yellow through the huge glass panels was spectacular and the outside gathering place charming and comfortable with a pretty glass fireplace. We all just loved it and Spencer was fast to communicate and very helpful. Highly recommend.
Beautiful home set on a creek. We loved the large windows! We were surprised that the highway was across the creek, and that the waterfall near the home is a bit dangerous and not a place for kids to play as we hoped. But playing in the creek next to the home was fun! Be aware that the 4th sleeping area is the living room on the couches. They are not pull out beds but there are three of them and they are comfortable for individual sleeping. The rest of the beds are comfy and wonderful as is having a bathroom for each bedroom. The kitchen is well stocked - only salt and pepper for pantry items at this time. The managers are quick to respond and friendly. It was a wonderful get away place for us!
The place was great. We had our whole family there, from baby to seniors. We were three families and grandparents coming together.
We have never been to that area of Utah and there is so much to see. The home was well equipped, and perfect for our kids and grand-kids to enjoy. The stream was fun, and waterfalls cold, but access was not easy. The kids helped each other and the little ones. They enjoyed it very much.
The oven didn't work, and he forgot to tell us, but the owners were able to help us out with our meal. (stove top worked). Nice grocery store in Escalante. Had a great meal at Boulder, at the bend on Rte 12, and corner where you start the Burr Trail. Food and service was great!
We enjoyed ourselves sitting by the fire, kids playing in the stream, hiked Lower Calf Creek Falls, and ran around the Devils Garden.
We loved the open concept and comfortable rooms. Thanks again for helping us when we had a question. Definitely would come back, because there is more to see and explore.
This house is architecturally very interesting - high ceilings, concrete floors. Minimalist in decor. High end appliances, sheets, pillows. We were there This house is architecturally very interesting - high ceilings, concrete floors. Minimalist in decor. High end appliances, sheets, pillows. We were there when the temperatures at night dropped into the 40's and the floors and large bathrooms felt cold. There is a gas firepit outside which was a nice feature but provided no heat. A stream runs by the property- a nice feature- but also a major road, Hwy. 12, does too. You cannot hear the traffic inside but does distract from the outdoor ambiance. The kitchen has all the utensils, dinnerware, pots and pans you could when the temperatures at night dropped into the 40's and the floors and large bathrooms felt cold. There was nothing in the kitchen in the way of napkins, storage bags or foil or things like that. No basics like sugar, salt, etc. so you need to bring everything you need. There is no cabinet space for your items. The house is set off by itself so lots of privacy. It is near a pretty good restaurant. The hosts were very responsible when we needed help with the fire pit operation and when electricity went out over the whole town.
We stayed three nights and loved the property. We were active during the days hiking and exploring the area and loved to come home to a beautiful property to relax and cook dinner in the state of the art kitchen and enjoy the outdoor fire pit at night. The property is well situated close to town and National and state parks! We highly recommend this VRBO!
The property worked very well for a group of friends. Large central room and kitchen. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. All of cooking and eating gear you could need. Remember to bring your own coffee, sugar, tea etc.
I almost wished there weren't so many amazing places to visit near Birch Creek House! I loved it at first sight and wanted to live there more each day ..... just reading in the hanging chairs all day and sitting by the gas fire all night. Every single thing is first class and the setting is perfect. The only thing we wished for was a few reading lamps inside and more places to hang clothes and towels. (I promised my friend I'd mention that but don't hesitate to stay in this house .... close to so much natural beauty .... you can find a spot for your towels and clothes!)
Mix of family members meeting here and using for a launching point to Bryce Canyon NP. Worked great. The house is well stocked with everything you'll need to make your stay a pleasurable one. They have a long list of rules, but when you think about it, they're all reasonable. And anyone who thinks otherwise is probably not too keen on keeping their own things nice. The owners have gone out of their way to do everything they can to make this place feel comfortable and practical. Well, if you don't mind driving. It's not exactly in suburbia, but if you're looking here, then that's probably what you're after and is actually a part of the appeal. I took a couple walks in the morning down the dirt roads just because I could. Well worth the time to do so. Be sure to check out the waterfall by the entry road in the morning for the best pictures.
One last note, on your way in or out, be sure to drive Hwy 12 (in the daylight hours). It truly is a scenic road and could well be a destination in itself.
Thank you Rex's for allowing us to have a great stay.
The location of the house is perfect, my son loved playing in the river. And the hikes were unforgettable.
My wife wants to go back already. I would totally recommend this house to anyone looking to visit the area.
Great house, very clean, but not the setting I imagined or anticipated. I imagined a house/cabin that had vista type views, here you’re down along a creek with your west views impeded my tamari’s and willows. We still had a great
