"This property is UNSUITABLE for pilgrims, despite its close proximity to the Camino del Norte. There were no washing or drying facilities for clothes beyond ones ability to improvise in the bathroom. The owner was uncontactable and did not respond to my WhatsApp message written in Spanish. They did not have a stamp for my Credencial del Peregrino to record my stay, a necessity to prove having walked the route. There were no cooking facilities beyond a microwave and the restaurant at the hotel...

"Casa Pikua was right on the Camino. A sudden rain shower hit 2 miles before we arrived. We were able to dump our clothes in the spacious room and go to the bar and get dinner and drinks. Beautiful view from the room and dining area."

"It was deep in snow when we arrived and my husband didn’t believe the sat nav so we were lost, we called the hotel and the owner actually got in his car in the snow and came and found us knowing we had an English number plate, well impressed! "Bonita casa rural con vistas a la campiña y al mar. A unos 10 mins en coche de Mutriku, tiene un sendero muy agradable que baja hasta el pueblo (unos 25 mins a pie). Nos alojamos en falta de un apartamento funcional bien equipado en general y con las camas cada mañana hechas como si fuera una habitación de hotel. Advertimos algunas carencias en cuanto a menaje -falta de cafetera, exprimidor, vasos- que parcialmente fueron resueltas. Propietario muy agradable. Hay mosquitos en la zona, pero...

"We spent a lovely four nights here. The condo was on an upper floor, with plenty of parking at the side of the building. We used supermarkets in Durango (5-10 min drive away) for groceries. It was easy to drive into Durango and take the train to Bilbao for the day too. The kitchen had the basic things you might need (small oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, coffee machine, washer, dishwasher, but no kettle?) and the shower was pleasingly powerful. The air con was very welcome in the sticky July...
