"We booked to stay at Haus Saarland am Rennsteig. On arriving at the hotel we found it was closed and a notice telling us to go to another hotel, Hotel Thuringenschanze which was about 0.5km away. Since we had arrived by public transport we had to walk there with our luggage. On checking in at the new hotel we were not offered Oberhof guest cards. "For a small family visiting Weimar, this apartment is useful. Good kitchen. Clean and relatively convenient to the old town. The beds tend to be hard. Credit cards are not accepted. You need a phone to call owners to get in if you arrive before the evening"
