In prime Manasota Key location, Blue Island Inn has spectacular waterfront views of gorgeous Lemon Bay from every Suite so you might never want to leave! We are only a 5-minute walk to a delightfully uncrowded ocean-side beach or enjoy our cute “bay-front beach” right out back.

Blue Island Inn includes 5 waterfront Suites of various sizes - each Suite enjoys a great view of picturesque Lemon Bay. Blue Island Inn offers shared use of a variety of desirable common areas including: sandy "Bay Beach" area out back, 2 kayaks, tropical swimming pool, self-serve tiki bar, Dock for fishing/enjoying Bay Views (firmly no boat docking), outdoor ping pong, and laundry room.

Quick 1 minute drive to five popular family-friendly Key restaurants near the big Englewood beach with live tropical music, very popular free beach yoga classes, reasonably priced water sports rentals – parasailing, sunset cruises etc. 2-mile drive to number 1 ranked attraction of stump pass state beach park - a natural wonderland. Lots more restaurants & shops along Dearborn & nearby Historic Venice Avenue. Stumpy's Free Ride - a tip-based shuttle service - is popular with our guests. Enjoy!

Mermaid’s Retreat is on the first floor of the charming Blue Island Inn on a quiet, safe, relaxing nice island street. You will receive a 4 digit code - along with the vacation villa address - to your entrance door which work on your dates so you don't need to worry about keys! super easy! ONE car parking spot (there's no other parking & I don't have other safe parking ideas that aren't a high TOW RISK - so please only plan to bring one car or choose another property. )
- Note: TV's typically "ON" at arrival. Login to your favorite streaming service with Smart TVs (just bring your favorite streaming channels login info or enjoy the free channels.

Car rentals are the best, easiest, most reasonably priced way to get to and from Manasota key. Stumpy's Free Ride is a popular tip-based local shuttle service our guests like to use to get around the Key

Each of our places has a free high-speed WIFI, Beach towels, folding beach chairs, Sand toy set & all linens provided. Charcoal grills (guest to provide own charcoal). Free use of our laundry room on main floor.

Had a wonderful time at Mermaids retreat. Was the perfect spot for my husband, 2 kids & I. The private beach is breath taking!! Perfect location to restaurants & shops. We will definitely be back!

Great view right on the bay. Easy check in and out. Lots to do in the area. Beaches were just perfect. If your a shell hunter, theres not a better area. The apartment was very relaxing and felt like home. Already planning to go back!

Everything at this property was wonderful! Very peaceful and relaxing! The Mermaids Retreat was absolutely magnificent. It was very clean, comfortable and welcoming! It was more than we expected and offered special touches. There was nothing that we did not like, and we highly recommend! We will most certainly stay again!!!

It was perfect!
This was the perfect get away spot! Communication with home owners was spot on with details about stay, check-in, and local attractions. Very clean and comfortable. There was even a tray of teas, snacks, and amenities. My biggest dilemma was deciding whether I wanted to hang out at the pool or the beach. Tough decisions! I highly recommend Mermaid's Retreat!

Enjoying the beach and warm weather
Our boys (10,12,14) loved fishing off the dock and each of them caught some fish. The short walk to the ocean was a daily event. We found shells and shark teeth! The sunsets on the ocean were great. We grilled each night, swam in the pool, made ourselves pina coladas and took advantage of the peace and quiet to read books and play games. We had a great time!

Manasota Key was a hidden gem
This place comes with everything you need plus more. Our hostess, Amy was always accessible. She offered all kinds of great tips from hidden beaches to favorite restaurants. The only thing that we regret was not staying longer.

Was a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation. The rental had everything you could possibly need. Amy was very happy to help you with suggestions about activities in the area. The pool was not heated when we arrived and they had the pool guy there the next morning to have it fixed. The private beach across the street was beautiful!!! They provided beach chairs and towels as well. Would definitely stay again!!!

Fabulous location!
We’ve stayed on the key many times and this was by far our favorite spot to date! You have the bay right outside your window where fishing is like no other with a beautiful pool to boot! Close to top notch restaurants and shops (We enjoyed Farlow’s, The Waverly & Magnolia’s on the Bay) but secluded enough down a peaceful side road to where you feel like you’ve got the island to yourself. We love visiting Stump Pass Beach State Park when we’re in town but we were thrilled with the private beach access this unit offered. It was a quick 5 minute walk and the sunsets are unbeatable. The unit itself was spacious, clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We found it to be a very relaxing weekend and Amy & her team were always available to us if we needed anything. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy Florida’s natural beauty with impeccable accommodations - we cannot wait to return!

Perfect! Clean, updated unit & great location on Lemon Bay.
I just stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip and it was beyond my expectations. Upon entry to the apt., there was a bottle of wine & 2 glasses on a tray which I thought was a nice touch. The kitchen is well equipped and has 2 coffee machines. The apt. itself was clean, comfortable and tastefully updated. It has direct water views from the living room window. The bed was very comfortable and there's a phone charging port & noise machine on the nightstand which were very convenient. The best part for me was being able to sit out back on the small sandy beach directly on Lemon Bay. These past few nights I've enjoyed sitting out back feeling the seabreeze and looking out at the beautiful views of the moon reflecting on the water. It's in a fantastic location with a private beach access just a short walk across the street and restaurants a few minutes away. If you're looking to stay on Manasota Key and are a couple or a small family of 4 or 5, look no further. I would definitely stay here again.

All was great. Only want to point out that the door leading into bathroom was stuck and appears to be water damaged or rotted in the bottom. Also could not turn on the main light by living room/kitchen area. Not complaining, just thought you should know.

Great location with a beautiful beach! We had a wonderful detail stay while on Manasota Key. Beach was a convenient walk from the Blue Island Inn. The host Amy gave us some great recommendations for dinners out. The state order at the end of the island had some great walking trails with beautiful views! Highly recommend!

Wonderful stay!
The location and view were awesome, place was very clean, stocked with all the amenities you would need. My partner and I loved watching the sunrise in the morning and even got to do some fishing off the dock. Hosts were very communicative and available for any questions. 10/10 would love to stay again!
