Welcome to the PBC in Encinitas Historical District, North County Coastal San Diego. The PBC is a modern & spacious 1,000 sq. ft. freestanding beach house situated within a 10,000 sq. ft. lush tropical palm grove. There are over 200 palm trunks offering filtered shade and tropical ambience accentuated by the light ocean breezes passing through the palm leaves. The entire property has been designed with excellent attention to detail, amenities and your privacy. Imported Indonesian furniture from Bali makes you feel like you are on your own private island!

High open-beam vaulted ceilings incredible modern yet subtle indirect illumination, lots of natural day lighting from the seven sky lights, great professional cooking facilities and luxurious linens! Great tropical outdoor living areas provide amazing retreat and entrainment options. The new TIKI-TUB (Deeply Relaxing Hot-Tub for All Humans) is available for your exclusive enjoyment. Wonderful stay!
We loved our stay at Pacific Palm Grove! The cottage and grounds were just beautiful...so well-designed, well-equipped and comfortable. And we so enjoyed walking in the historic neighborhood..such an eclectic array of homes with pretty gardens and foliage. Gorgeous beaches nearby too, and a lovely botanic garden. Great restaurants and cute shops in the area. Our host, Eric, was incredibly helpful and nice. We'd go back in a minute!

Mother's Day Weekend Stay
Great time. Great place. Great location. Whether you are out of town checking out San Diego or you live in the city and need a staycation...this is an excellent option. My family of 4 had a great time hanging at the house and it is an excellent base of operation for exploring the beach communities. We will be back.

Beautiful Relaxing House in Amazing location
Loved everything about our stay. The kitchen is fully equipped/stocked for cooking although we chose to frequent the wonderful restaurants just around the corner. The yard and fireplace (although we didn’t have a fire) were so quaint. Inside common spaces were just as relaxing. Bed was comfy and there was plenty of closet space to unpack (which I love to do when staying for more than a couple days). Not to mention host was incredibly responsive and accommodating! Would definitely stay here again and again.

Perfect weekend getaway
My husband and I were very impressed with the cottage and felt extremely comfortable there, in fact we are already planning our return visit. The space was perfect for the 2 of us, but we may have felt crowded bringing the kids. The kitchen was top notch and Eric had 2 grills plus front yard and backyard seating/visiting areas. The town of Encinitas was so close, and we had a great time exploring the hangouts. Next visit needs to be a little longer!!

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the PBC and can't wait to come back and stay again in the future. We loved all the incredible amenities (tiki tub, fire places, tiki torches, etc.) And the town of Encinitas has everything you need and more. Perfect location to access a walk along the coastal rail trail or wander into the center of town and visit great local restaurants. A short drive from San Diego, but you feel like you are in an island oasis away from it all. This place is a gem!

Perfect for a Workcation & Surfcation
This property has everything you need to work (incredibly fast WIFI), relax (loved the soaking tub), surf (very close to Swamis), and cook (incredibly well appointed kitchen for a rental - sharp knives and cast iron?!? From the moment we stepped onto the property, we knew we had picked an extraordinary haven for our visit. Slow down and wnjoy
The hosue is as beautiful as it looks online. Sunlight streams through in every room. The outdoor space is nothing short of magical. There are many ways you can enjoy the space. We used the outdoor hot tub which was fun and the fireplaces/tiki torches made the experience feel like you’re in a different world. Downtown Encinitas is walkable and so close to the highway to explore the rest of San Diego. Kitchen was well stocked and chef grade appliances and pans. Loved our stay and highly recommend!

This place is as charming as the pics. Easy walk to Encinitas, shops and restaurants.
Dripping with charm! Palm fronds from every window. Even the unusual rain didn’t cramp our fun as the cottage is perfect for enjoying all weather. Listening to the trees and rain in the cozy cottage was as delightful as the sunshine. Kitchen is nicely stocked for cooking and enjoying family in the open space. We look forward to returning!

We love staying at Eric's PBC - The whole vibe of the place makes you relax instantly. It's full of light, even on cloudy days. He has stocked the kitchen with everything you need and more. All appliances are fabulous and everything is immaculately clean! Laundry right outside the back door. We loved our stay, beginning to end! Our flight was canceled & Eric was kind & gracious enough to work with us to extend our stay by 2 days. The weather started out a little gloomy & chilly so we didn't get to use the outdoor spaces enough, but certainly will do next time. The shower is extra special & invigorating & the bed is super comfortable & the area was very quiet. I'm an insomniac & still managed to get some sleep here. The entire space was just lovely & we are already thinking about a trip back. Loved Encinitas, & Loved this little slice of paradise. Thank You Eric, Anne & Jaun!

A Perfect Retreat
Every few years I take a personal retreat for a time of solitude, reflection & prayer. I had saved this property in my VRBO sometime ago, and was so grateful to have finally enjoyed it! The home was clean, charming and LOADED with amenities! Location is perfect, as was the lush surroundings & wonderfully place skylights! One little perk worth mentioning, and to my great delight, is the water pressure in the shower, the heater within the shower room & the hot water that was plentiful! Maybe seems an odd detail to highlight, but not once you experience it! :) I’m so thankful for my time away from home, to enjoy in this beautiful getaway and getting the perfect space and time within luxury that I was hoping for! Thank you!

Charming Peaceful Getaway
The PBC was a great base for exploring all that North County has to offer. It is located on a quiet residential street, just a short bike ride or walk away from the heart of Encinitas. The cottage has a spacious interior and the outdoor areas are terrific. There is a full kitchen and the place is well equipped with with laundry supplies, toiletries, beach chairs, coffee/tea supplies, extra blankets, condiments, spices, etc. An informative manual answered most of our questions. For anything else, Eric was quick to respond to text messages. We especially enjoyed morning visits from Eric's black lab named Juan!

A most peaceful retreat
Left our home in cold MT to enjoy the CA sun and the greenery, to celebrate a big anniversary. The weather did not cooperate, but because the PBC is absolutely as enchanting as advertised, we had a wonderful getaway. The cottage is roomy, quiet, charming and has everything one could possibly need/want. We were even able to squeeze in great fun by the outdoor kiva fireplace and tiki torches, enjoying some wine and charcuterie. Eric, the property host, is a great resource for all things local, and although completely left us to our privacy, always quickly responded to any questions. The neighborhood is quiet all day long and there are many nearby great beaches, restaurants and shops. Was also fun seeing the amazing transformation of the property and landscaping in the photo log in the cottage, as Eric’s vision came to be realized over these many years. Although on the pricier side of places to stay in the area, the PBC is truly worth every cent

The Plantation Beach Cottage
The PBC was absolutely adorable! Perfect for 2 people. Everything was very clean, and the home had most everything you would need for a stay in Encinitas. The kitchen was well stocked. The grounds are amazing! I especially loved the outdoor fireplace in the front yard, I used that all of the time. It has a gas start and then the super dry wood took off immediately. I would read my book in front of it daily. Parking was easy, and always available on the street or in the grass driveway. I highly recommend the place!!!

Slightly disappointed
While Eric the owner is very nice, the listing is not entirely accurate. The owner lives in the guest house behind the home you are renting. You will hear water running through the pipes when you are not using any water. The bedroom is so bright at night I found it hard to sleep although the bed was comfortable. Location is great. VRBO should require that it be disclosed about the owner living on the property. I traveled alone but if i would have been with my family i would have been even more disappointed.
