"Munkebo is a lovely place. However we are both in our mid seventies and have slight mobility issues and were offered a room on the first floor and there was no elevator so we had to carry our heavy suitcases upstairs ourselves. The receptionist was not very responsive when I asked if only upstairs was available but continued to just walk upstairs. "Just a 5-10 minute drive from the heart of the old town. Easy to access if coming from Odense station: 10 minute bus ride from the station, then a 5 min walk. If you like walking, it’s only a 30 minute walk from the train station. B&B unit is set up perfectly, and there is also access to their laundry. Would definitely re book if I’m in the area again. Area felt safe as a solo female area. "

"The rooms are well furnished although a little small. Good closet space for longer stays. The hotel has free coffee,tea and water stations both in the lobby and on the ground floor of the new building. The restaurant serves a great breakfast with fresh fruit, egg varieties, cheeses, and fresh baked bread of high quality. Dinner wasn’t that appealing as the price was quite high. "I recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by its cleanliness and serene atmosphere. While the rooms are a bit on the smaller side, they are well-kept and comfortable. One suggestion for improvement would be to update the carpets to eliminate any lingering old carpet smell. "Such a cute and peaceful property. When I booked I only saw pics of the room, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how lovely the courtyard was. The outside of the building looks original and well maintained, while the inside looks like a brand new hotel room. I appreciated the games provided including giant chess, ladder golf, table tennis, air hockey, and table football. Note that linens are not included but can be rented; and check in is from 15:00 to 17:00; so plan accordingly. "

The best holiday home in years

"This was the best holiday home we've rented in many years. We stayed for only one week but we wish we could have stayed longer. Unfortunately, due to several reasons it was impossible for us to book for a longer period this time. We also didn't know full well what to expect, this being our first holiday in Denmark, but being back home now we know we should have been able to stay longer. From the moment we arrived this felt like a home from home. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace while drinking a glass of wine or walking to the beach or in the neighborhood. The house is also an ideal "base camp" to explore Kerteminde and its surroundings. All the facilities are there and it is quite clear that the house has recently been renovated. It is nicely done. Maybe a microwave oven would be handy for people who don't want to cook too much, but for the rest there is nothing we missed or felt wasn't good enough. So, all in all, we had a really good stay. This is a house we will recommend to family and friends – in fact we've already done so! – and we want to come back. But this time for a longer stay!"
