Is it a beach day? Hiking in the sunshine? Kayaking or shopping? Coffee on the deck watching the birds? This clean and bright apartment is close to everything you may want to do!! Shopping, antiquing, great restaurants, hiking, biking, sight seeing, beaches, Bar Harbor Airport (BHB), Acadia National Park, bird sanctuary, close to lamoine beach. It is very centrally located yet quiet and private in a wooded setting!

The apartment is a NEWLY renovated open concept second floor apartment with two bedrooms, one bathroom. The master bedroom has a king sized bed with lots of storage and a TV. The the second bedroom has two double beds, lots of storage and a TV!! , plenty of seating for family game night or watching the news on the flat screen TV. There is AC through out the apartment for those warmer summer days!
The kitchen appliances are all NEW. There is plenty of dishes, pots, pans, utensils to cook if you want to!! There are 2 coffee pots, a keurig and a drip kind. The owner supplies spices, coffee, tp, paper towels, shampoo, and soap.
This is CLEAN, spacious family space, beautifully decorated in nautical themes. You have access to the garage for parking, and a washer and dryer on the first floor off of the garage.
This is a luxurious space meticulously maintained by the owner. He is very attentive to guests, if there is anything you may need while you are here!! Check out the guest book at the house for additional information on the area, maps, and brochures.

Great place to stay that was off the beaten path. Roomy with a good lay out of the property. The host was awesome, the homemade blueberry pie in the fridge was a huge bonus!

Short Acadia Get Away
My husband and I took our kids to Acadia to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. We had a great trip overall, here are our pros and cons. Pros: Our host was very responsive to any messages I sent him. He kindly made sure the apartment was open for us when we arrived late on our first night. He also recommended Ana amazing pizza place for dinner (Pat’s Pizza- definitely give it a try). The unit is very convenient to Acadia National Park, which is what we were looking for. Cons There were large black flies flying around the kitchen and living room. The dishes were dirty and needed to be washed before the first use. The bathroom was old. The master bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We didn’t spend much time in the apartment, and it was worth it for the location, but I would look for a different place in the future.

Great Place Close to Acadia
What a wonderful find. 15 minutes to Acadia; 25 minutes to Bar Harbor. This 2 BR unit had everything we needed. James is a wonderful host. Easy to communicate with, helpful ( He even carried my heavy suitcase up the stairs to the unit). Beds were very comfortable.Area was quiet. We enjoyed looking a birds & wild turkeys out our window. Be aware the unit is up a flight of stairs which is clearly stated & shown in the pictures. I would stay here again next time I come to Maine.

Great stay, great host
It was the perfect location for us, It was a direct route to Acadia and lots of choices of restaurants, groceries stores, and conveniences within a short distance. James was great in allowing us to park in the garage during Hurricane Lee so we could load our car and not get rained on and refunded us a night's stay due to the hurricane. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

We wanted something close to Bar Harbor but not in the Harbor. The VRBO was close to everything and the host provided anything we would need. We wanted for nothing!

Fun Times
We really enjoyed our stay. It is a great location for visiting either Schoodic or Mt Desert Island locations of Acadia National Park. Very comfortable place with all the comforts of home. The homemade oatmeal raisin cookies were a nice touch and came in handy on the long hikes in the park.

One of the nicest VRBOs we have stayed at. We liked not being in Bar Harbor but within a short drive of Acadia. James is awesome. The blueberry pie and cheesecake were delicious and much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

James was the most welcoming and accommodating host. The property was spotless and ready to accommodate guests after strenuous days on the hiking trail. Highly recommend! James went out of his way to help us in many ways - jumping our dead car battery and suggestions for trails and exploration!!

Great stay near Acadia National Park!
We had a great stay at the Hidden Gem. The apartment was very clean, spacious and great for families. James, was a wonderful host and easy to get in touch with. We were greeted with freshly baked cookies which were delicious. The apartment is on a quiet street but near to grocery store and a Wal-Mart and about 25 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia Park. We would definitely recommend the Hidden Gem to friends and family!

This was our first time to Acadia and we enjoyed every minute of it. From our wonderful stay in this apartment to the amazing host who thought of everything we would need; this truly felt like home away from home. Very impressed the minute we walked into the door. Smelled very fresh and clean, nicely decorated and stocked with everything you would need from dishes to cookware, toiletries and medicinal items for headache, minor cuts and indigestion. James had everything covered. Great property and I loved the pale pink towels!

Lovely apartment with quick access to Acadia National Park!
Sweet, super clean and lovely apartment for up to four. Modern space over a 2-car garage, with fully equipped kichen with new appliances and granite countertops. Quiet, somewhat rural neighborhood.James is delight, and provides many necessities not found in other short-term rentals. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area! Thank you!

Clean and well kept apartment.
The apartment is about a short drive away to Acadia National Park. The apartment is clean and well-maintained. The kitchen has pots and pans so that you can make your own Maine lobsters. I bought live lobster from grocery stores and gas stations (they sell live lobster everywhere) to avoid overpaying at restaurants :).

Home away from home with easy access to Acadia/Bar Harbor
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment style unit. All the rooms were a nice and comfortable size and it was well stocked with almost everything one would need. We ended up having to deal with a bit of bad weather from Tropical Depression Philippe, but James made sure we had extra water (thankfully, we didn’t need it) and offered for us to park our car in the garage. What a great host! Also, the location is a short drive from Bar Harbor and Acadia and we enjoyed a few local restaurants like Finn’s Irish Pub, Airline Brewing Company and Pat’s Pizza. Would definitely stay in this great unit again. Thank you James for providing such a nice place to stay for our first visit to Maine!

Beautiful place nearly flawless, all decorated wonderfully and has everything you need. Quite spacious and loved the king bed and the two full beds, fully equipped kitchen and open space living room. James is very friendly and communicative. The place is only 20-30 min drive from Acadia, and has many stores nearby. The heater was useful as the weather got chilly.

The road to Acadia
The moment we walked into this house we felt it was the perfect place for us to stay. It was clean and James thought of everything to make our stay comfortable, even stocking the fridge with water, milk, bread and eggs. You will pass many lobster shacks on the way to Acadia which we strongly recommend you stop for dinner. Lots of places for sunrises and sunsets. We would stay in this VRBO again any time. Fabulous stay in Ellsworth, ME
There are not enough stars to be able to give this VRBO a proper rating - it was one of, if not the best, vacation rental experience we've ever had! 1. James is a spectacular host! Every communication received a quick response, and any concern or question was addressed right away. He was so warm and friendly. He greeted us upon our arrival, helped us bring our bags in, and showed us around. He checked on us during our stay to make sure all was good. He even gave us a homemade wild blueberry pie, farm fresh eggs, and fresh wild blueberries! We really enjoyed chatting with and getting to know him a bit during our stay. By the time we left, we felt like family! 2. The apartment is spotlessly clean and is very nicely decorated - it really gave us the feeling of being on vacation in Maine. The bedrooms were a good size, and the beds and pillows were super comfortable. It was perfect for my husband and myself as well as our two teens. The bathroom was similarly well equipped, with plenty of towels and toiletries. 3. The eat-in kitchen is fantastic too! Besides the pie and eggs, James had stocked the fridge, freezer, and cabinets with other staples and condiments. There is an entire complement of spices, pots, pans, wraps, oils, etc. - we really felt right at home, and it made our stay even more enjoyable and comfortable. 4. The location is convenient for trips to Acadia and elsewhere in the area, and there are supermarkets and good restaurants nearby. Our highest recommendation!
