Dog hair everywhere
All of the old, worn out furniture was absolutely covered in dog hair, the inside of the cabin reeks of dog, none of the showers worked properly, the hot tub was ice cold when we arrived, and the arcade game is broken. Vacasa, the managers, offered zero help from a foreign call center I could barely understand. This property is misrepresented in the listing and we feel ripped off.... would not recommend. Kinda lost some trust in VRBO as well.

Excellent Cabin and Location
First, don't let the gravel drive scare you. I know it says 4 wheel drive but we made it up and down the gravel hill multiple times in a rear wheel drive van. Just take your time, it is fine. Next, know that this cabin has three full bedrooms, not two as advertised. One upstairs, one main level and one in the basement. We had no issue with cleanliness as it was very clean upon arrival - so don't hold it against the owners for one bad experience, everyone has a bad day, its part of being human. The seclusion of this cabin - no neighbors - is outstanding. Great view across the valley and only 15 minutes to downtown Ellijay. Hard to find the first time but worth the effort - this is off of Hidden Valley Trail road, a challenging turn off the highway if you are coming from Chatsworth but an easy turn from Ellijay.

Not what we expected
The location was Great! The view was Great! .. I will not ever go through Vacasa again. We left after our second night and went somewhere else for the rest of our trip. We have booked through VRBO many times and this is the worst place we’ve stayed in .. and the first one we lost money on because we left early to get out of it. There were several issues we had: - More run down than expected and what the pictures showed. Carpet down stairs torn, dirty looking. Wood floors scuffed .. old looking. Hot tube deck showed it was screened in photos .. no screen .. bugs while trying to enjoy the hot tub. - Toilet by kitchen, toilet seat was real loose about to fall off. I had to tighten the seat. - Pots .. handles were so loose about to fall off, I had to tighten them. Had to wash everything we used because of sticky crud in the pots and pans. - Every time we walk through a room, we run into a new spider web. - No window coverings in common areas .. didn’t care for that at all. Especially with your security camera pointed at the front to see everything that’s going on inside the main living area. Creepy at night when you have lights on knowing anyone could see in from outside. - Cabin made extremely loud cracking and popping noises, kept us awake with my gun in my hand. - Door on lower level to hot tub was unlocked and open when we checked in. - Spam emails from Vacasa .. not cool. Very disappointed in VRBO for allowing Vacasa ruin nice places.

Disgusting Awful Experience!
When we checked in the trash was over flowing. We had no room for our own trash and even though we called property management each day, they did not take out the trash until day 3 of our 5 night stay. When we checked in the inside was COVERED in pet hair. It was disgusting. When we pulled the sheets back on ALL the beds, there was coat of dog hair, human hair, and dirt. The sofa was so gross that we didn’t even want to sit on it. The refrigerator and freezer did not work. We called for help, but all they did was bring ice and coolers. We had food going bad and had to keep going to the store to get ice. Not to mention we couldn’t throw away the food that was bad because there was no room in the trash cans. The front door did not lock. It was a code that was supposed to control the lock, but did not work. This was terrible because we couldn’t leave the cabin and had to cancel the majority of our vacation excursions because we did not want to leave the cabin unlocked. We called multiple times a day to get a key or working code and it did not get resolved. We looked forward to this trip for months and spent thousands. It was so awful. Nothing was resolved and I would never recommend anyone ever stays here. Complete waist of money. I wish I could get a refund.

Fantastic Retreat!
My fiancé and I took our geriatric doggie with us to this gem in a secluded location. Fantastic accommodations! So very clean, beautiful views, and all the things we could need while visiting. The only hiccup was a power outage that made the fridge/freezer warm but a quick switch of the breaker and we were back in track with no problems. Great response from Vacasa to help us with the issue. The beds are comfy, the decor inviting, the porch with the propane fit pit and grill were perfect. The hot tub was already warm so no need to wait to heat, a nice touch from the hosts. Close to the orchards and wineries with little hassle to get there. The drive up wasn’t as steep as I expected and we had no issues at all driving in. The sound of the on site waterfall was also quite welcoming! Highly recommend this cabin and we would love to come back again for a longer stay! Also my fiancé LOVED the vintage arcade game in the lower floor :)

Cozy cabin.
This is a very nice cabin. The only issue I had was that not even 2 hours into our stay we were leaving to get groceries. Before heading out I told my wife to watch her step on the steps because it was wet out. Well, when I started down them I stepped on the second step and my foot slid out from under me on the green algae that was all over the steps and I fell to the ground. I hurt my left hip , back, and both knees but I was able to hobble around the rest of our stay but didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked because of this. I would suggest putting some sandpaper strips on the steps before someone kills themselves on those steps.

Nice home overlooking a lovely valley. Wonderful wraparound porch, felt very quiet and secluded. Great location to feel away from the crowds but still good access to Cohutta trails, coffee in Ellijay and Apple Orchards. Had to do a little work while we were there, WiFi worked great.

Special place in Ellijay
I have been renting cabins in the area for more than 15 years. I know the area very well and my family even owned a place in the county. This is by far one of the best cabinsion Ellijay that I’ve stayed at. It’s not right in the center of things but is an easy drive to them (just what I prefer for a getaway). The neighborhood is a beautiful valley with just a few homes and farms. Just driving into the place makes you relax. The access roads to the house are steep but are very well maintained. I would think regular cars would have no problem getting to this cabin except for when it was the worst snow/ice. There’s plenty of parking and easy turnarounds at the cabin that perches just at the top of the neighborhood with a view down to the valley below. The cabin has a true wraparound porch and an open outdoor deck area around a gas fire pit. Bonus since I didn’t see that on the listing! It was a pretty place to sit and I’m sure would be awesome on a clear night with view of the stars. Another unmentioned bonus is that there is a very long and very well done waterfall that is constantly running and makes you feel like you’re sitting along a fast stream while watching the valley views from every part of the back and side decks. The hot tub at ground level was small but new and very clean. The water was cold when I arrived so clearly had just be drained/changed. It took it a whole half day to warm up but was very nice once it was. The cabin was exactly as described, though I would actually say this is a 3br cabin. The basement bedroom (with the bunks) has no exterior widow and likely can’t count as an official bedroom on the listing. The place was clean, well-stocked with equipment and everything was in good shape and comfortable. Everything you’d expect in a well-maintained vacation rental. The cabin details, condition, and location make this the best place I’ve stayed at in years up in the North GA mountains. You won’t be disappointed!

Nice but quirky cabin
The cabin is nice. The views amazing! The deck is great for your morning cup of tea. The firepit is a great gathering spot for lunch or dinner. The mattresses are comfortable. However there are some things that don't make sense like a 2 person hot tub for this big cabin. The furnace is located in the basement bedroom closet that has slats in it which makes it noisy when it's running. If you book this place via VRBO it will roll over to a Vacasa booking. My advice if you have issues with the house, follow up with VRBO. Vacasa never responded.

Loved the cabin after locating it! Large nice place with plenty of space. GPS took several of us to a location different from the actual cabin. Once we got to landmarks in written directions prividdd on website we found it. We were unable to use the oven the first night due to being full of grease from previous renters. However, after contacting the main number they sent somebody the following day to clean it. Really enjoyed sitting by the fire pit and use of grill. However, I left my hair straightener and hair dryer and called the day I checked out requesting it to be sent to me. The web site even mentioned they would send for 25.00. I’ve not received any call backs or my personal items like they promised.

Family and dog friendly-need 4WD!
It's true-you need a vehicle that can handle steep gravel inclines! Thankfully our AWD minivan was up for the task. But if you're not used to mountain roads-don't arrive at night. The cabin was in a beautiful location and cleaned well. Even the decks were clear of spider webs and debris. The beds were comfortable. Everyone loved the jacuzzi. We saw a few deer but thankfully no bears or snakes. The only thing we wished was different is that there isn't really any flat ground for the kids to play. There are steep declines all around the cabin. But they still had fun. The wrap around deck with hammock and fire pit was awesome. We didn't use the fire pit itself, but the chairs were comfortable. Overall we would 100% stay again if we come with a Jeep next time! Us northerners were very nervous on the drive in and out. But our local friends we were visiting said it was fine in their truck and pretty normal for this part of GA. :)

City boy review coming in hot!
We visited from South Florida, looking to get away from the heat and concrete for a few days. Generally speaking, this cabin is amazing. Tons of space, well-appointed, and 99.99% of everything worked as advertised. The lot is truly special, and it gives you the legitimate log cabin escape feel you are probably looking for if you’re reading this. My only two minor knocks are a bit of a fly/gnat issue in the kitchen sink area and the “fire/jump” buttons not working on the arcade. The fly issue we kind of got used to as it really was just localized to the sink area. The buttons were a bit heartbreaking though as my kids and I were excited to have some video game tourneys in the evenings but could only play games that did not require shooting or jumping. So basically, we were left with Pacman. Still had fun with it, but it was a small bummer. I grilled twice and used the firepit. If you’re not a city boy like me, just book it, it’s great and the decks/views are awesome. With that being said, if you are from the city or a flat area like South Florida, be prepared for the steep gravel-laden drive up to the cabin. It worked out fine after some helpful guidance from the maintenance person, but the initial climb up in our front-wheel-drive SUV was a bit of a shock. I was sincerely concerned about traversing it in the rain. My advice is to leave it in low gear, slow and steady and you will be fine. It is also, from my crowded South Florida suburban perspective, very secluded. I know, the listing says “secluded”! That said it is just over a mile to the cabin from the main road, you pass maybe 6 driveways to hidden homes, and there is only one house higher up than this one on the same mountain. Standing outside of the cabin, you literally cannot see another house nearby. Outside of the cabin itself, Ellijay was a pleasant surprise. We initially looked for Blue Ridge, but this cabin looked amazing, and we ended up spending far more time in and around Ellijay than Blue Ridge. Highly recommend dinner at The Roof, pizza from Ellijay Coal Fired Pizza, and ice cream from Abby’s. Everyone we ran into was amazingly nice and service-oriented. Heck, we hit the Hardee’s drive-through for breakfast on our way back to Florida at 5:30 am and even they seemed genuinely happy to be there. Once I was used to the mountain road, I loved the experience. And looking back on it, I miss it. But just be prepared if you are not used to it, and take your time, it’s worth it.

Cute property!
We loved our time at the cabin! It was a stunning view and very remote, which we loved. The wrap around deck was fantastic! The owners quickly responded when we lost power and told us how to reset the oven so it’d work. Only a couple of comments. The hot tub had recently been replaced and it went from a (pictured on Vrbo) 4 seater to a 2 seater, which was disappointing that we couldn’t all be in it comfortably. The oven has to lock shut. We didn’t realize this and I burnt my hand the first night there from the heat it emitted.
