The provincial park close by was great for hiking and the wildlife in the area made for perfect dog TV out the windows.We picked the location due to its proximity to friends that we were visiting and attending the World Juniors in Ottawa with.The house was everything we needed and more. "My wife and I spent a wonderful week in September at the Gecieve Opinicon. The cottage is clean and well-appointed with all you need for your stay. There is an incredible view of the water from the property including the sun room and bedroom. We spent many hours on the clear water in the kayaks with plenty of wildlife to see. The stars were beautiful! There is a perfect outdoor area to relax with café lights, a picnic table and a jacuzzi. Our hosts, Alison and David, were very kind and quickly...

"The best part of the trip was the boat tour. The lake and area are beautiful. Please match the online listing to signs posted in the suite (e.g. Pool hours only 6am to 9pm). Check-in was confusing and not advised when requesting it in advance. Pool area is not very private with a half-frosted glass partition wall next to the host’s TV/common area. The lakeside suite was not peaceful. The cottage only a few feet away had loud young adults (8+) with no privacy from them staring down at us when...

"Sprawling and fascinating house full of lovely furniture and objects, so well equipped for vacationers with many lovingly constructed inside and outside spaces. The kitchen was lovely and very well equipped, and the dishwasher worked well though it was very tiny so we had to run it after every meal. The very long catwalk to the dock and gazebo is just remarkable, lit at night with tiny string lights there. Two kayaks and two paddleboards were fun in the water. With the air conditioning on...

"We spent four very quiet and restful days at this location. Well appointed with a lovely sunroom, firepit, and walking access to a sandy swimming spot on beautiful Upper Beverley Lake. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and had all the amenities. The bedrooms were comfortable and the air conditioning made the hot Summer day comfortable. Very quiet, peaceful area! "Like the title says, the owners are very nice and doing their best but that can't cover up all the issues. The owners live on site by the way, along with the three cottages that are for rent...one right beside you at the pool level and one behind you that walks by the pool area to access the lake. There is not really any outdoor privacy. The view from the pool area and deck is breathtaking. The steps down to the pool from the cottage are definitely not to code, but there is a railing to hang...

I booked this location due to having a boat dock where I could keep my boat in the water. Unfortunately, late in the year they lower the water levels on the lake and our boat dock was not accessible due to the low water levels.
