"This is a beautiful home in a very private neighborhood. The photos do not do this home justice; it is much more elegant, clean, and well-situated than a picture can capture. I will say you do need a car. While there are advantages to staying outside of Madrid (about 1.15 hours) for access to the nearby supermarket and restaurants, one needs a vehicle despite the short distance. "We loved our stay at Las Moradas. The hotel beautifully appointed and is located in the heart of the old city within walking to many wonderful sites. The staff was courteous and helpful. Parking is not onsite, but there is a parking garage within close range. Avila involves walking up and down many hills and the parking is no exception.
