Private Estate with Incredible Views and Three King Beds!

Welcome to the Avocado House! This lovely home is nestled on the east side of Mount Helix with amazing views of the city and surrounding mountains. Conveniently situated a short distance from Interstate 8 and Highway 94. Just 15 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes to Downtown San Diego. Travel East and enjoy the casinos!

This lovely home has four well appointed bedrooms. Three bedrooms have new king beds, and the fourth bedroom has a trundle bed that can be used as two twins or a king size bed. The master has its own bathroom. Large living room overlooks the beautiful salt water pool and the valley. The large kitchen has all the necessary equipment for the pickiest of cooks. Laundry area is equipped with two new LG washer and dryers.

The pool has a beach entry and is heated with an electric heat pump. As opposed to gas or propane, heat pumps use electricity to heat water. Instead of creating heat through burning fuel, heat pumps capture heat from the surrounding air, then transfer that heat to the swimming water. In cooler months, the water temperature will not heat above the outside temperature. The house uses solar for electricity.

This property is situated on an acre and is very secluded. Enjoy the comforts of the country in the middle of America's finest city!

This home is one of the best weve stayed at. The rooms are spacious, kitchen well stocked, location perfect, and the pool - so beautiful and relaxing. The outdoor space is absolutely stunning. We loved looking at all the beautiful plants. We truly hope to stay here again!

This was the best stocked house in ten years. Their kitchen was amazing. Great views of San Diego . We where very pleased. The weather could have been warmer. But that is not there fault

Secluded Home Close to Everything
My family of 4 enjoyed the space & comforts of this home. The house is well appointed; secluded from the rest of the area; local restaurants are plenty & surprisingly moderately priced; and most tourist spots we went to/from were within 25 minutes and easy commutes. The weather was a bit chillier than we had hoped for, so unfortunately the pool never got quite warm enough to use, but the outdoor seating areas and garden were lovely.

Wonderful Time Celebrating A Graduation From SDSU
Our family of six totally enjoyed our stay at the Avocado House. The layout of the house, extra bathrooms and gorgeous view (day and night) were all very pleasant and accommodating. The weather was perfect for using the pool and I loved walking around the property. We created new memories and celebrated lots of events. We chose the Avocado House because it is conveniently close to campus. The property is also about 20 minutes from downtown and most other locations. Thank you to the host for their responsiveness while booking and answering our questions. We all enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Avocado House as a great place to spend time together. SDSU Freshmen move-in
Was moving our daughter into her freshmen year at SDSU. House was better than the details in the VRBO listing. Lots of space, pool and view were postcard worthy. Property owner kept in communication with us while Tropical Storm Hilary was approaching to keep us informed of local alerts and info. Plan to stay here again for an upcoming SDSU visit with our daughter.

Had a great time seeing the sights and coming back and relaxing around pool
The house was a bit hard to find but once we did it was so nice to be able to come home after a long day and relax and watch tv or swim in the pool. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes however there were not nearly enough towels, for a house that sleeps 10, 4 towels total was not enough. We had to go buy our own towels. The beds were very comfortable and very nice linens. We enjoyed our stay!!!!

Fabulous!
What a perfect house! It had beautiful grounds and a seemingly separate location with really no neighbors you could see. There was some road noise but not bad in the morning and evening when we’d sit out by the pool. The location is fabulous, again sort of secluded but blocks from Vons etc. and the house is well maintained, well stocked and had great amenities. The owners were quick to respond to emails. We would definitely stay here again and have recommended to family/friends in the area if they need a place for visitors to stay. Again couldn’t have been more perfect and we appreciated how well appointed the house was. Thanks for such a great place

Avocado House
We all enjoyed your home. We had a brunch for a few hours on Saturday. Although we ordered food from a local Mexican restaurant and did not cook (except for toast) the house and all the kitchenware were perfect. The brunch was for my father-in-law. Although he couldn't stay long because of his health, his visit was comfortable and he was able to see his grandchildren (3) and sons, etc. all in a homey, comforting environment. Thank you for this as this may be the last time we all see him as he is quite frail. We would love to return in the future when we visit. I plan to recommend your home if I am asked for recommendations from family and friends. Thank you again for creating such a comfortable environment.

Beautiful Home & Views
I depend on reviews when reserving a place and I can say this is a rental I would stay in again. The outside is great for hanging out and relaxing. Beautiful views of city lights. There is a lot of attention to detail throughout the house. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable mattresses and nice, private window coverings in all bedrooms. There are outside hanging lights so make sure to plug them in for nice ambiance at night. The pool is gorgeous but was a tad too cold for us in October. The kids (6 & 8) still got in for a little while but it wasn't for long. From some previous reviews I was concerned with road noise and driveway location. The noise didn't bother us at all. The house is in the city but the house has nice windows that block out majority of noise. They even put a noise machine in the room closest to the road but we would have been fine without it. The driveway is slightly more difficult to locate but it wouldn't detour us from staying here. Anyways, we all really enjoyed the house and the owner's were great to communicate with! We had a wonderful long weekend!

Beautiful Property in a Great Location
We stayed at the Avocado House from March 29th - April 6th, with another family, so we had four adults and 4 teenagers. The house was perfect for us! The four bedrooms are very nicely appointed, and it's great that two of the bedrooms have king size beds. The kitchen is well-stocked with basic spices and cleaning supplies, and all of the utensils, eating and serving pieces you could need. Plenty of towels and extra paper products are on hand. There are two clothes washers and two dryers available, which was great to have. The grounds of the property are fantastic. The heated pool was used daily by the kids, and the views are stunning. It was really nice to have more than one outdoor table. There was ample room in the driveway for the 2 SUVs we were driving. The location is extremely convenient! Approximately 30 minutes from all of the main attractions, as well as groceries, fuel, fast food, Target, Starbucks, CVS all basically at the bottom of the hill from the home. The homeowners were fantastic to work with! I coordinated the trip for both families, so I sent them several emails with various questions. Every correspondence that I had with them was warm, friendly, and responded to very quickly. I highly recommend this property, and would definitely book here again!

In town for SDSU family weekend and we prefer getting a house for the weekend. This was a lovely property with an amazing view and great privacy. Rooms for each of the kids with TVs was a plus. Hosts were extremely responsive and on top of things!!

Weekend at San Diego
The property was spectacular. Its location was centrally located which allowed us easy access to any of the multiple Things to Do spots in the San Diego area. The house itself was better than advertised. It provided views second to none and enough seclusion to allow us to enjoy the peace and quiet of the west coast.

The house and the views were beautiful!. Beyond our expectations. Plenty of space for our family. They had a pack and play and a high chair which were perfect for our grandson. We cooked meals and all cookware, dishes, etc. were provided. The pool and garden were well maintained and gorgeous. If we travel to San Diego in the future, we would rent this place again.
