We were very excited to get away from the hustle & bustle of the city and our demanding jobs. Overall, it’s a beautiful cabin, with many lovely upgrades, but we were disappointed in a few things.
Before the trip even started, we had to ask three times for the instructions on how to enter the property (passcode for the door). The first request was a couple days before our arrival, as the instructions say, and twice on the day of our arrival. A little nerve wracking when we our 10 minutes away from the cabin, it’s an hour or so past the checkin time of 3:30pm, and at approx 4:30pm we had finally got the instructions.
On day 2, had an ant infestation that took up 1 of my 3 vacation days killing and sweeping them, which didn’t prove to be relaxing at all. The owners were excellent to respond and get ant traps & spray for us, but it took a lot of time for the ants to die and go away.
The cabin has rules posted just about everywhere you turn, and the owners also send the same rules with the passcode for door. This is not relaxing… to open a beside table drawer, and to see the rules posted in there too! Like you state in the rules, if something is damaged or missing, it’ll be taken out on the primary’s credit card, which is completely understandable in rental situations.
We found the outdoor furniture was in rough shape, and not clean.
Overall we didn’t see the value for the price we paid.
