Cozy well equipped apartment that felt just like home
Communications with Andrew prior to our arrival were first class. We had a friendly welcome to the property by Gordon who showed us around the apartment. The apartment was cozy and very clean. I don’t think I have stayed at a better equipped rental property. The property is located 2 minutes from North Berwick GC and is at the end of the town’s delightful high street. If you are coming to North Berwick this is the place to stay!

Great, well appointed, unbeatable location.
Very well appointed, renovated and clean accommodation. Tremendous location, steps to pubs, restaurants, beach and golf course. Nice touches like the wood burning enclosed fire, and "wet" room with great shower. All you need right here for an enjoyable stay in NB, rain or shine and I should know - I grew up there.

whimsical, magical trip
To say this was a fantastic, magical trip really doesn't do it justice. Andrew and Gordon, our hosts- were impeccable, helpful, professional and friendly. North Berwick is a history lovers paradise. The trains are easy to use and 5 min away from the property. The 'manor' is huge, spotless, has everything you could possibly need to cook, chill, watch a flick, or just have a cup of tea and read. We will be back! 10 out of 10

We had a lovely holiday at Marine Lodge, ideal accommodation for a family of 4 Very well equipped, spacious with pleasant decor well maintained. We were greeted by Gordon who showed us round and provided us with helpful overview of how everything worked He also provided us with a welcome pack of all the basics bread and milk so we did not need to shop on our first evening - the blazing fire in the stove was a lovely ensured we felt at home straight away. Really nice accommodation, much larger than expected and in a great location. The large lounge is very comfortable with a wood burner, making for cosy evenings. Kitchen again large with every conceivable aid - great table, chat, meal evenings. Two bathrooms, one is a very modern wet room, and 2 bedrooms with high quality bedding. Overall - a lovely clean, spacious, well appointed & fresh apartment. Andrew (the owner) could not have been more helpful, a really genuine man, eager to assist us in every way. GREAT!

Weekend trip review North Berwick
Booked above apartment for two nights together with relatives and my family. We absolutely loved apartment from the moment we walked in; everything was there. It was a very relaxing place. Apartment was clean, welcoming, a place you would want to spend time in. The shops, resturants and beach are close by. North Berwick is a lovely town to spend time in. Our relatives were also equally pleased with the apartment. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone else. If I go back to North Berwick again, which I hope I will; I hope to be able to book this apartment.

Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay
Very convenient for North Berwick shops, beaches and train to Edinburgh. Good views, parking, very clean, comfortable and relaxing. Thanks to Gordon for welcoming us and to Andrew for being so helpful with recommendations etc., and thoughtful - loved the daffodils and the shortbread. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family or friends. Lots of good walking locally, both short and long. Dirleton and Tantallon Castle very interesting and Scottish Seabird Centre also worth a visit. Tour of Royal Yacht Brittania in Edinburgh (Leith) was very good, including delicious tea and scones. Would also recommend a visit to see The Kelpies and Falkirk wheel (about 1h 20 min drive).

Amazing Apartment in the Biarritz of the North!
We have just returned from a great 3 night stay in Marine Lodge. Welcomed on Friday night by Gordon who had switched the central heating on so the apartment was cosy for us. We were given all the information we needed and a lovely welcome food pack. Superb hospitality. The apartment is beautiful and very well appointed. Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated reflecting the seaside and golfing town it is situated in. Perfect location for exploring all North Berwick has to offer. The booking process communication was excellent from Andrew and we would have no hesitation in booking again. We hope to return again soon. Many thanks and well done team Marine Lodge!

Great golfing trip
We were two couples from the US on a golfing trip. Marine Lodge was the perfect place to base ourselves for the second part of our trip. It has a well appointed kitchen where we would eat breakfast each day and would have been a great place to cook evening meals if there weren't so many good restaurants within walking distance. The train station is a five minute walk up the hill and the train ride to Edinburgh is about 30 minutes. We went to Edinburgh for lunch and an afternoon of sightseeing and were back with plenty of time for a rest and time to go out for dinner. The apartment was very clean throughout, the beds very comfortable and we were met and shown the workings of the place when we arrived. We were all very happy with our stay an hope visit again.

Perfect,whatever the weather.
This was our second visit to Marine Lodge and hopefully, not our last! Our first visit was during the winter and we were so cosy in the apartment, this time we enjoyed sunny days and were able to make full use of the garden and sun porch. Luckily, we had one or two chilly evenings, so we allowed ourselves to light the log burner!! Once again, we found the apartment to be clean, comfortable and perfectly suited to our needs. Golf, the beach, and several restaurants were enjoyed all the better for being just minutes away. Gordon was on hand to welcome us again and when we had a plumbing problem, this was dealt with swiftly and with good humour! Can't wait to return!

Best holiday ever!!
My family and I have been holidaying in North Berwick for a number of years and I can definitely say that the 2 weeks we spent in Marine Lodge have been the best so far. The apartment was spotless, spacious, ideally located for all local amenities and only a 2 minute stroll from the beach and putting green. Upon our arrival we were met by Gordon who showed us all around the apartment and provided us with information for all the local attractions. The patio area with its sun lounge was an absolute sun trap, great for just sitting and reading if so desired and the apartment being so spacious meant that we were not bumping into each other and had plenty of room for relaxing. I would definitely make this our first option for holiday rental in North Berwick everytime.

Comfortable accommodation in a great location
My wife and I stayed for a long weekend along with her parents. Both bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable super-king beds. Although bathrooms are not en suite to the bedrooms, they are close by and with there being two we had "one each". The couches in the lounge are all comfortable enough to sit around for several hours if the weather is not at its best, as was the case for our stay. Central heating performs very well making the house cosy, but putting the woodburning stove on creates a good atmosphere. We only ate in for breakfast - there are plenty places to eat out within a few minutes walk - so the kitchen didn't get a full test, but it did what we needed it to do. Would happily book again if visiting North Berwick.

Perfect place to stay around Edinburgh!
The Marine Lodge was even better than the photos and descriptions tell! North Berwick is a delightful location for exploring Edinburgh (an easy 25 minute train ride), playing golf, walking the beach, exploring castles and more! We were very happy to be away from the hustle of the city and enjoyed the quiet comfort of Marine Lodge. Andrew went beyond being the perfect host by answering many questions via email, suggesting golf outings, recommending restaurants and pubs, and various places to go explore. His place is extremely well-kept with very comfortable beds, updated bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, warm and inviting sitting room and good Wi-Fi connections. He is the nicest most accommodating owner we have experienced. We would have loved to stay longer and plan on coming back! We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to holiday in the Edinburgh area.

Perfect!
Marine Lodge provides lovely accommodation. It is clean, comfortable and has been beautifully decorated. Andrew was most helpful when we were arranging the booking and Gordon (their local representative) had the log burner lit when we arrived - truly a warm welcome! Some super touches were appreciated, such as the Christmas tree, decorations and chocolates. The kitchen table was also ready laid for us and milk, tea and coffee was on hand.Excellent facilities,(loved the wet room) and good golf club storage space. I read a remark in the visitors book about it being just like home without all the usual clutter and that just about sums it up! Marine Lodge is in a perfect location for restaurants, golf, beach and Edinburgh. We also liked the enclosed, safe garden as we had a dog with us. Hope to return soon. Thank you!

Best Easter holiday ever
We spent our easter holiday in North Berwick, such a beautyful, lovely town. We had a wonderful time. Everything was great, the friendly Scots, the weather, the landscape, beautiful beaches and last, but not least, the convenient accomodation. It exceeded all our expactations. The very well appointed apartment with the lovely seaview. It's a very good starting point for a lot of activities. We rarely used our car. The beach is not far, the railway station is not far(30 minutes to Edinburgh), and more then enough shopping opportunities are in striking distance. One of the most important things we will ever remember, was the very warm welcome (thanks Gordon) and the very close e-mail contact to Andrew before the beginning of our journey. Thank you so much for your helpful advices. This conversation was a pleasure for us. We will recommend Scotland, Nort Berwick and especially Marine Lodge! Thanks for all! Best regards Claudia, Carsten and family (Germany)

A Wonderful Week in North Berwick
We were a party of 4 adults age 50+. From the moment we made the booking until the day we left, everything went like clockwork. The owner was in regular contact with useful local information and advice between the time we booked until our arrival. The property didn't disappoint, either. The rooms are all spacious with high ceilings, the beds are very comfortable (very important to us), the wet room was lovely, and the kitchen facilities were all modern and what you would need for a week away. There were TV's in 4 of the rooms, but we chose to have a break from watching TV while we were there. The property location is excellent - just five minutes walk to the beach, the golf course, the shops, the nearest restaurant, and the nearest pub. It was also only 8-10 minutes walk to the railway station. Very well located, indeed. We enjoyed some nice day trips in the car, going south to Berwick-upon-Tweed, and then onward to Bamburgh where we enjoyed the beach and the castle. We also did a day trip into Edinburgh on the train which was really easy. The trains were prompt and pleasantly clean and tidy. Overall, a most enjoyable week in North Berwick for the four of us. We would definitely recommend the property, as well as the area. We'll probably be back next year.

Lovely property, in excellent conditions and with plenty of amenities. The location is close to the beach, golf course, shops and restaurants, all within a few minute’s walk. The rooms are spacious and the view out of the big bay window is endlessly changing. Edinburgh is also an easy train ride away, with the station close by. We stayed as a family of 5, and it worked well for us.
