We had an amazing stay from start to finish. Ian gave us a tour if the castle along with a history. The rooms were cozy, the bed was very comfortable. The owners even gave us a ride to the tram when we were unable to find a taxi. Sue and Ian are a friendly helpful couple.
We had a fantastic stay in the Tower at Faside Castle. This is an incredibly interesting property with both a fascinating old and very recent history. The space for guests is huge. We saw a very large sitting room on the website and guessed this was general room for all guests, but it is actual a private room for the exclusive us of the Tower guests only (plus a very large ensuite bedroom, and very large double bed). We loved the access to the roof with panoramic views of the coast and Edinburgh and beyond and the continental breakfast in the room was great (plus usual tea and coffee making facilities, microwave etc). The owners Ian and Sue provided an very warm welcome and we had a fantastic chat about the history of the property, local places to visit etc, but are very careful to give the guests privacy. We only stayed one night, but I wish it had been longer!
Rooftop.
Bedroom.
Great Room.
All yours. Castle history told to you from the owner herself. The biggest and best breakfast setup in your room. A roof top with a spectacular view. A great room right out of a movie set.
One important note: the bedroom was a bit musty and bothered us when we slept. Leave the window open and the bathroom fan on and you will not notice it.
Absolutely awesome best Birthday ever lovely friendly staff can't wait to go again. From seeing the castle when it was a ruin to staying in it was more than what I expected it to be!
We loved our stay at Faside Castle. Sue and Ian are very welcoming and we felt very well taken care of. We really enjoyed the fire in the sitting room, learning all the history, and the fantastic view. It was a great experience we will always remember.
Absolutely wonderful bed! Hosts are super helpful and while it is not a full Irish breakfast there was yogurt, fruit, cereals, pasties, ham, cheese, toast, coffee, tea, cocoa etc. no need to go hungry!
It was fabulous staying in the castle-there is a family connection to it way back. The owners were great-letting me look through the history, which Ive written down & will check out. The atmosphere was great. Fabulous views from the rooftop.
