Maximum Number of Guests:
We do not accept bookings of more than 6 adults or more than 10 people (combination of children and adults with no more than 6 adults). The primary renter must be aged 32 or above. We also accept no pets. Guests that arrive with more people than allowed or with pets will be evicted without notice. At no time are there to be more than 10 people at the property. Located in a residential community with neighbors who have a right of quiet enjoyment of their property. Loud music or shouting (parties) will not be tolerated. Choose our property for your stay if "quiet enjoyment" matches with your Lake Oconee vacation desires. Consider larger properties if you cannot abide by these policies.
Welcome to our beautiful "Lots To Do" home. We like nice things and our home on Lake Oconee has so much to like. The location on the lake is prime - just 4-7 mins to restaurants, groceries (Publix), bait, ice, liquor, golf, movie theater, etc. Plus we are at the home often with our family and we have the home outfitted with everything we enjoy while we are there. The beds and linens and furniture are high quality for our enjoyment...and now also for your enjoyment.
We will spare you the details about all the nearby golf courses, historic towns, local parks, and other nearby amenities that you can research or ask us about. We will concentrate on the location and details of the home so you can feel comfortable and be able to confidently chose the perfect home for your stay.
Location, Location, Location:
Our vacation home is located only 3.7 miles from the Publix grocery store. Publix is located at 6350 Lake Oconee Pkwy, Greensboro, GA. Our home is on Shelby Drive, Eatonton GA. Surrounding Publix you'll find the movie theater, restaurants, convenience stores, bait shop, and even medical and other professional services. You'll appreciate having a 4 to 6 minute drive when you need more fishing bait for the kids, extra drinks for the cooler, or decide to go out for pizza and a movie. Our lake home is located near the end of a peninsula, in the heart of the lake where some restaurants have boat parking, and close to marinas with gas docks. We have nice water views from the home with very few trees obstructing our views. From the fire pit and the dock we have big water views.
Inside The Home:
The Main Level has an open floor plan with great views of the lake year round. There's plenty of space for entertaining. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker, microwave, and dinnerware for a large group. The kitchen is big and open. We have a sitting area off the kitchen with comfortable seating and built-ins with an HDTV and a wet bar. You find a breakfast table that seats 4 and a dining table that seats up to 10 people. The Hearth Room features a stacked stone fireplace an HDTV. The Bunk Room is on this main floor and has 4 twin sized beds and direct access into the bathroom for this level. You'll also find a laundry room with full size washer and dryer and essential cleaning supplies and a vacuum in case of an accidental spill. The main floor has lots of hardwood floors and the living spaces are filled with natural light thanks to newer large windows and sliding door. Along the back of the entire main level is a spacious deck for plenty more outdoor living space.
Water Quality: we have a new water softener system and reverse osmosis drinking water system installed June 2022. This gives us great drinking water from a tap at the kitchen sink and it is also connected to the refrigerator for great ice and water from the refrigerator dispensers. This eliminates the need for you to buy loads of drinking water.
The Upper Level is dedicated entirely to the Master Suite. Featuring a King sized bed, quality linens, HDTV, and a balcony overlooking the lake. The Master Bath has tile flooring, double vanities, a large walk-in shower that is fully tiled, and a large soaking bathtub. There is also a large closet and full dresser.
The Lower Level has two more bedrooms (1 King Bed & 1 Queen Bed), high quality linens, new patio doors with looking out on the lake. The bedrooms have tile floors and from both bedrooms you can walk out to the large patio with great lake views. These bedrooms share a walk-thru bath and have their own vanities inside each room. The lower level also features a large media room with built-in cabinets, large Ultra-HDTV, PlayStation 3 (Blu-ray/DVD), Ping Pong table and a large sectional sofa for game time and movie nights.
Outdoor Seating:
There is a huge outdoor table that can comfortably seat 6 adults and 4 children. We have room to pull up a couple extra chairs if needed. There is also an outdoor 3-person sofa and 2 club chairs.
You'll find plenty of lightweight chairs on the lower level patio and around the fire pit area that can be moved around as needed. Just don’t leave the lightweight chairs on the dock or they will blow into the lake.
Private Dock, Swimming, & Fishing:
Our permanent and private dock has a solid foundation and won't bounce up and down with each wave. Our dock is the maximum size allowed on the lake and it has a maintenance free composite dock surface. This means you cannot get wood splinters on our dock. The dock quality and dock surface is a really big deal if you plan to spend time on the dock. The dock has two aluminum swim ladders and the perimeter of the dock has guards to protect the edges of the dock from watercraft. We have a hose and shower at the dock. Plus we have an overhead light at the dock and a GFI power outlet on the dock so you can inflate water toys and plug in accessories. The water depth averages 9 ft deep at the end of the dock and our peninsula is open to the heart of the lake. Kids often have success catching bass, sunfish, and catfish from the dock because of the location near deep and cool water.
Bringing Your Boat?:
Anchors Marina is 1.5 miles from our home and they have a public boat landing (small cost to use it). They also rent boats here. There are also other boat rentals nearby. We do not have an open slip on our dock. We do have an open side of the dock that has two cleats for tying the boat to the dock. You must have extra dock fenders for protecting the side of your boat and the dock. We are in the cove and this helps protect against some boat waves. However, on a busy boating day the wakes do bounce the docked boats and lots of fenders are critical.
Awesome Fire Pit and Outdoor Features:
The home is located near the end of the peninsula and the driveway comes off the cul-de-sac at the end of the quiet street. We often go for morning walks and rarely have a vehicle drive past us. Kids ride their bikes and play games in the cul-de-sac and we don't need to worry about vehicles. From the driveway there are only 6 steps into the main level of the home. The property is very gently sloping towards the lake and is approximately .6 acres in size. Neighboring homes are also on large lakefront lots. This gives you nice privacy from the neighboring homes. The back of the home has a large deck and gas grill. There is a smooth concrete path that brings you to the fire pit and to the dock. The smooth path allows you to roll a cooler and easily carry water toys between the home and the dock. The fire pit is built into the landscape and the chairs all sit on a concrete surface that surrounds the fire pit. So even if it rains during your stay you can enjoy the fire pit knowing it won't be a muddy mess around that area.
The Extra Stuff:
You can use our 12 ft Kayak that seats 2 Adults. We also have 2 single seat kayaks that are for people under 140 lbs (kid size kayaks). We have around 20 life jackets of varying sizes (most are kid sizes). They may not fit everyone, so bring yours if you’re particular about sizing. We keep extra linens, trash bags, dishwasher & Laundry detergent. We also try to keep a stock of cooking oil, salt and pepper, coffee filters, aluminum foil, and other essentials. We try to keep these things in stock.
Mobile Phone Coverage and WiFi Access:
Inside the home and throughout our lakeside neighborhood you'll get good mobile phone coverage with all the main providers. The home has high speed internet, Wifi, and DirecTV service.
Primary Renter Age Requirement:
The primary renter signing the home rental contract must be 32 years of age or older and must be staying at the property each day of the rental period. No more than 10 guests (6 adults maximum) may occupy the property. Keep in mind that 4 of the beds are twin beds in a bunk bed set up, so these are not ideal for adults - especially the top bunks should not be used by people over 120 lbs.
This is our personal lake home that we visit and enjoy often. We have nice neighbors that live in the adjacent homes year round. We expect you to fully enjoy our home and all the amenities we offer while also being respectful of neighbors and being gentle with our personal property. Our lake home is great for entertaining, but not for partying.
