Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Can’t fault helpfulness of staff. Room was simple but comfortable with sea view. Chest of drawers and coat stand. En suite toilet, wash basin and shower. Down side of hotel: No parking, scaffolding on front elevation, no lift, residential area away from town.
We had a really good time in the hotel. It was very clean and the staffs were very helpful.

Pros: room looked nice and modern, everything was tidy and clean and cleaning service was great.the windows were nice and big and the view vas nice as well
Cons: the mattress in room 8 was terible, it needs replacing as could feel every spring and when siting down you just sink through it.
The room was cold in the morning and there was a weird smell in the hallway when you reach around second floor.
Had a lovely 2 night stay here. Absolutely amazing view of the sea from my room, couldn’t get enough of waking up to it.
Definitely booking The Halcyon again when I’m back in Eastbourne.
Thanks to all the staff for being so amazing and helpful! Lots of love and best wishes.
Great location, very clean, great friendly staffs. I got a very good deal. In future I will consider the same place if it is in my price range.
Thank you.
Great value in a good location on the sea in Eastbourne. Friendly staff, clean, and quiet. Good access to the South Downs Way as well, heading towards the Seven Sisters. Only drawback was the tiny shower, but for the price, it’s worth it.
We had a very cozy and quiet time, would love to come back again. Lee welcomed us warm and friendly prepared us a large room than , Lorraine helped us with the breakfast in the morning, everything was neat and organised.
Nice small hotel, ideal for a short break. Very close to the Seafront and easy access to the town.
The stand out for me was warm welcome at breakfast and level of service by the lady in the breakfast room.
The single room is compact but nice sea view and sound of the waves. Warm and well equipped.
I was in Eastbourne for work so didn’t spend a lot of time at the hotel but happy with my stay.
We had a wonderful stay.
The staff made sure that we felt like home.
Especially big thanks to Sue for all the tips for must see must do and must eat’s.
The room was perfect ( we booked extra nights).
Good breakfast served with a friendly smile every day a treat.
Nice and clean room with beautiful view at the sea. Great central location.
Very friendly staff. I liked the option of self catering breakfast in the kitchen so you can eat whenever you like.
Wifi and hot water working well.
I’d stay here again!
It was great for what it is. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The service was awesome. The only issue was that the toilet in our room was extremely tiny. Other than that it was wonderful.
An exceptional place to stay. Room and bed comfortable and spotless, cleaning took place every day with fresh towels and water provided. Staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Loved the breakfast layout and selection available especially the cold meats, cheese and fresh fruit which varied daily. Parking close by on surrounding streets. Ideal location for beach, theatres, art gallery and shops.
The en-suite room on the top floors has a few flaws. First of all the sea view is from a small window above the bed, which defeats the purpose of paying premium for a sea view. The bathroom is quite old and the worst thing was probably the room door which was moving/slamming permanently when guests from the sae floor were coming in/out of their flat, making a noise strong enough to wake up anyone from sleep. After being woken up a few times in the night, we had to fit a spoon between the door and the frame to stop it from moving and slaming.
Location is good.
Small but perfectly formed room. Modern fittings throughout (except the carpet on the stairs). A double bed would be better than a king - barely enough room to side step around the bed. Tiny shower enclosure.
