"The too was smaller compared to the US, but it was big enough to fit a queen bed. The windows had blinds that closed by remote. They were doing construction outside sounded like a jackhammer every morning around 7 (weekdays). Check in was easy and very helpful."

"Was a bit confused to get the keys from the pub but eventually we get it sorted quickly. Staff was very friendly and room was perfect for our needs. Car park was opposite the room so could even keep an eye on my car overnight. Parking was free on the weekend."

"This is the second time we have stayed here and it is a good place for The Hackney Empire. We enjoyed our stay. Dinner is available on site but not breakfast. There are available places to have breakfast on the high street. There are no lifts in The Old Ship just stairs and there are two flights. The staff are very helpful and informative. Nothing is too much trouble. The Old Ship caters for all age groups. We will definately stay here again. "

"The pub/hotel was easy to find. The food looked great, although I didn't eat. The rooms were up two flights of stairs, wasn't too challenging. The room was nice enough, very clean and full of character. The biggest drawback was due to the very central location in London was the traffic noise. At times it was deafening, I struggled to sleep due to it. Unfortunately a massive drawback but otherwise a lovely pleasant stay. They really need to invest in soundproofing "

"Disappointing hotel overall. Pretty run down, room was fairly small. Location was good, just a 10 minute walk to the underground station. For me the worst thing was that the hotel advertised a free continental breakfast - well that turned out to be just a couple of boxes of cornflakes and some milk in the room! Got only one cereal bowl as well - apparently to share between hubby and myself. No spoons for it, but got spoons for the tea/coffee so probably just wanted to save on the washing up. "

"Would totally stay here again! Everything was nice and new. Quite compact (especially the bedroom/bathroom areas) but it was entirely comfortable for a solo traveller like me :) It’s a private apartment attached to the host’s house, but you’ll have your own separate entrance to the outside, which makes it easy to come and go as you please. The neighbourhood was absolutely lovely, and felt very safe. Transit is conveniently located right at the end of the street, so I was able to commute...
