Had a great time staying here with a group of friends. 6 min drive from town, house tucked a way in a rustic setting. Peter was super responsive and we had no issues. Would stay here again
This was our second time staying in this home. In the fall/winter it is perfect for sitting by the fire and having cozy evenings (and days) indoors.
Peter is a gracious host who communicates very promptly and well.
Highly recommend.
What a wonderful little getaway. This property is a gem. The pictures do not do it justice. It is beautifully laid out and decorated, extremely clean and comfortable, and in close proximity to everything we wanted to do in East Hampton. Peter was friendly, very responsive to questions, and truly made us feel at home in his home. I would absolutely stay again and highly recommend this property.
This unique home is carefully and thoughtfully furnished. Comfortable. Peaceful surrounding forest. Lovely pool. Easy outdoor indoor transitions. Pool towels where most needed. Great country kitchen. In the forest, close to the beach. Perfect balance. Peter, the owner, most attentive if questions arose. Each small area was very thoughtfully and interestingly furnished. Great photos everywhere. Very interesting statues. Would love to come back for fireplace times. Really enjoyed the wind through the trees sitting or lounging on the porch. Truly restful Great vacation home.
Wow! We were so pleased with the Rustic Lodge on many fronts. It was incredibly spacious for the four of us (two couples). The house itself is more private than I would imagine. We could barely see another house from the property. The hosts are clearly world travelers and art collectors. Every nook and cranny was filled with pieces from the world over. We spent four nights there, and fell into a lovely rhythm of both dining out and cooking in. We prepared many meals “at home” and the kitchen had everything needed. The decks were a lovely place to relax and enjoy a meal. The pool was perfect. The beds were so very comfortable.
The location was just great. We took bike rides directly from the property (both road bikes and some single track trail rides, too). Other attractions were easily accessed by a quick car ride.
Peter was so responsive. Most of our communication occurred before our arrival as I had a few questions. I appreciated Peter’s quick and informative replies to any of my messages.
All in all, a most wonderful stay. Many thanks for making this trip a memorable one!
My only concern for this property was that there was mold in the basement. The pool was FREEZING so we couldnt use it and we stayed in mid July. The location and area is perfect and we had a good time. Peter was very attentive when we asked him questions and he even offered to recommend some good restaurants.
My husband, infant daughter, dogs and brother all stayed for a week at Peter's house. The photographs do not accurately do the home justice and we were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The home is an eclectic blend of rustic decor, and is outfitted with everything you need (tons of towels, pots, pans, dishes, grill, etc). Two things to note are that the upstairs main bedroom is an open loft, so not totally private, and the upstairs bathroom has a hand shower in a claw foot tub, not a true shower. Neither of these things were big deals for us, and we enjoyed our stay. Peter was an excellent host and extremely communicative. Overall, would recommend this property and would return. Thanks!
This house is truly one of a kind. Not your typical thought when you hear “The Hamptons”, but amazing nonetheless! Peter was a great host and the house was well supplied with all basic amenities and items needed for a weekend. Deck and pool were beautiful and the upstairs master and downstairs den were NOT done any justice by the pictures! Looking forward to staying again in the cooler months!
Peter's house was awesome! So unique and fun with lots of special touches and decor. The property is gorgeous, and we were able to spend some time on the wraparound deck and pool area when the sun came out. We were a group of 6 girls and there was plenty of room for all of us comfortably. The house is located very conveniently between East Hampton town and Sag Harbor, so we were able to visit both, plus Montauk. We also appreciated that there were plenty of towels and linens for everyone. Check-in was also very easy, and Peter was very responsive to any of my questions. Overall, a great experience. We hope to be back next summer!
Peter's log home is gorgeous. It is decorated in quintessential Ralph Lauren style with lux sofas, comfy chairs and top notch linens/towels. It is true log construction which creates a dark, cozy feeling, yet there are plenty of doors and windows to let in the sun. The house is nestled in a wooded lot of pine trees with a very large elevated deck. The house close to East Hampton and Sag Harbor. This is a gem!
Such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy friends and family. Peter is a great host and responded promptly to any concerns. We are looking forward to staying here again and again ♥️
Peter was very helpful and communicative, and we loved his place—the pictures don’t even do it justice!

A Cabin in The Woods
This property is a cabin in the woods conveniently located to nearby East Hampton. However, there are some serious issues that need to be addressed.
(1) There are large, black carpenter ants EVERYWHERE....including the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms including in the beds.
(2) The mattresses on ALL the beds are the old coil type. They are quite saggy and extremely uncomfortable. These MUST be replaced.
(3) The main level ceiling is dotted with what looks like dime-sized rust spots. We found out this was from water damage when water began leaking from the master bath thru to the smaller main level bedroom. We determined this was probably the result of water inadvertently dripping down the shower curtain and onto the floor despite having the curtain INSIDE the tub. Perhaps this could be helped by having a longer shower curtain.
(4) The cabin is NOT centrally air conditioned. There is a wall unit in the master bedroom with a large ceiling fan. There is a wall unit high up in the cathedral ceiling living room. This unit helps the main living space but does not help the main level bedrooms...especially when the door is closed. There are small portable fans in those bedrooms. For full disclosure, it was unseasonably hot during our stay.
(5) The cushions on the deck and pool area seem to be perpetually wet and therefore moldy making use of them undesirable.

Charming forest retreat in excellent location
The location is excellent for discovering the best that the Lower Fork has to offer close to some of the best beaches and excellent restaurants. The house is charming and comfortable, hidden away in a serene forest setting. We’d stay there again and highly recommend this place. Peter was a great host who was ready to answer any questions.
