The house was as advertised. There were bikes, kayaks and foosball! We brought our own bikes so can't vouch to the condition of those at the house, but they were plentiful. (Make sure to get out onto the Shining Sea trail!) There were two 2-person kayaks, and one 1-person one for a smallish person. One oar was missing when we got there, but we replaced the oar (Joanne repaid us), and we took advantage of all of the kayaks over the course of the week. The back of the seat in the single kayak and a seat in one of the two person kayaks did not have strapping that supported them for very long, but we reported this to Joanne, and I imagine she will have them repaired in short order. (She was always responsive and quick to return our calls.) The ability to kayak on the lake (right at the end of the street) was wonderful.
We enjoyed eating on the back deck. We didn't find a lobster pot, but the fish store will steam them for you, so not a problem. The house was cool, the beds and couch comfortable. It's an older home with an older kitchen, so no dishwasher, but most everything else one needs. Good to have a washer and dryer in the basement available for use.
We had never stayed on this part of the Cape before, but enjoyed what it had to offer and this sweet home. Thank you, Joanne!
