Welcome to the year-round lakefront Northern House. Create lifelong memories at this beautiful newly remodeled 4-bedroom 2 bath home situated on crystal clear and private full rec Meta Lake. Our level lake lot is perfect for all ages. With western exposure the sunsets are stunning and star gazing by the beautiful lakeside fire pit is simply extraordinary. Our expansive level shoreline, and wonderful sand beach are perfect for all ages. The lake is ideal for all water sports year round. There is also a private boat landing for your use. Fishing for all species is outstanding. Whether fishing, boating, waterskiing, swimming, or just relaxing by the lake, you’ll love every minute. Fall colors are world class. The Northern House includes a private dock, boat w/outboard motor, stand up boards, kayaks, a Lily Pad float and much more.

This home was carefully designed and meticulously decorated to provide a warm, inviting space for your family and friends. The spacious Northwoods interior provides an open style lakeside living area. The gourmet kitchen and lake view dining area are blanketed in natural light. Stainless-steel appliances include a full-size refrigerator, microwave, automatic dishwasher and electric range. The fully stocked kitchen cabinets are a dream-come-true for home cooks. The incredible lakeside deck offers a haven to be enjoyed throughout the day.

The Northern House has four bedrooms and two bathrooms and comfortably sleeps 12. The master bedroom has breathtaking lake views with a king bed. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and twin bunk bed. Bedrooms 3 and 4 have queen beds. Living room sofa is a pullout sleeper. There is a washer/dryer with linens and bath towels provided for your use. Please bring your own beach towels.

Amenities

Amenities include high-speed internet, 60-inch Smart TV, sand beach, incredible lakeside fire pit, free firewood, lounge chairs, outdoor dining, stand up boards, kayaks, lily pad float and a private dock with boat and motor. Marvel at the incredible wildlife including bald eagles (the highest concentration in the state), deer, loons, otter, fox, and geese.

This beautiful home is surrounded by natural beauty year-round. Our community has over 2,000 glacially created lakes, 72 crystal clear rivers and streams, millions of acres of pristine public forests, and unique villages and townships. Enjoy year-round trails in the heart of our forests, from hiking, jogging, and biking to winter sports. The fall colors are simply inspiring. Held each October, the Cranberry Festival is famous for its hospitality, entertainment, food, arts, crafts and events.


In the winter, snowmobile direct from to over 500 miles of renowned snowmobile trails. There is plenty of room to park your snowmobile trailer or it’s just a few minutes’ drive to snowmobile rental facilities. Meta Lake offers outstanding ice fishing. Eagle River is also host to the World Championship Snowmobile Derby and the United States Pond Hockey Championship which are 10 minutes away. Some of the best downhill skiing in the Midwest is nearby and it’s very affordable and family friendly. Sledding, ice skating, snowshoe trails and cross-country ski trails are also nearby. There are plenty of winter activities to enjoy while you take in the idyllic winter setting of the snow dusted Northwoods.

Wonderful family getaway
We enjoyed our stay! The house was perfect for our family. It had great amenities! We loved the outdoor space, especially the view from the pier and the fire pit. Our kids had fun swimming in the lake and fishing off the pier. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Amazing stay in Eagle River
One of the best places we have rented in northern Wisconsin!! Our family of 8 spent a week at the Northern house and all had a great time. The extras were so thoughtful and really made the difference. The kids loved the splash pad and kayaks. The house was clean and very well stocked. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions or inquiries. Definitely booking again for next year!!

Great Lake house weekend!
We have stayed at several lake houses over the years and this was the best! The house was in a beautiful location under tall red and white pines and it was well furnished and spacious for our three generation group. The dining table was absolutely beautiful and large enough for everyone. The water toys were ample and varied and were used everyday. The lights on the trees created a magical atmosphere at night! Hosts Sandy and Nick communicated well with us and accommodated our requests. And since the weather also cooperated we had the best lakehouse vacation ever!

We absolutely loved our stay here! Beautiful home right on the lake! They had everything we needed and more! Great for all ages, definitely what the soul needed! Fishing, campfires, kayaking, atv/bike rides and it’s not too far from downtown Eagle River!They anlso had a bonus game room in the basement, a definite hit! Our family will definitely be back!

Enjoyed the house and having all amenities included was a bonus! Awesome place with a private dock was a plus for easy access to ice fish. Communication was excellent. My family and I enjoyed the table will maybe have to consider getting one!

Fantastic Family Getaway
Perfectly accommodated our extended family of 12. Enough space to move about the house. Spacious back yard to toss the football and play yard darts. Even caught a few fish on late season ice. Hosts were very responsive and accommodating.

Relaxing Family Vacation
We had such a wonderful time! My three boys really enjoyed the kayaks, swimming and fishing. My youngest spent lots of time in the sand area! The fire pit area was wonderful for our night time fires. Really wish we could have stayed longer!

Girls Weekend.
Each year my friends and I pick a place and stay. This house was amazing! Had everything we needed and more. The outside fire pit was lovely and they had plenty of water sports to play with. The house was cozy, the table was big enough for everyone, and the beds were so comfortable!! We will definitely be coming back!

The house was just what we were looking for for a woman’s pool tournament. They had a nice little welcome snack package the bedrooms were awesome. We loved the kitchen table. If I had any questions they answered them with in 15 minutes which was great.

What can I say about this place? We really loved our stay here. So beautiful with lake access. Private location. The personal touch of snacks and bottled water in the refrigerator was off the charts. Very clean. We will be with our husbands in the future.

Beutiful, clean place in Eagle River!
We enjoyed our stay at this warm, clean, cozy home. Everything positive about this stay, but would recommend getting a humidifier, it's very dry in the house. As well as hopefully they get a letter better game plan for snowmobilers, had to drive a little ways on road to get to the trail, otherwise awesome!

Fantastic Northwoods get a way
This was our first VRBO stay and it was a game changer. Our group enjoyed the great kitchen layout to cook meals and visit at the gorgeous kitchen table. Kids loved the outdoor space and amenities in the garage to play. Rooms were spacious and kids woke up saying it was their best sleep ever. The ability to visit with friends and our kids in a comfortable home setting ceated an atmosphere for a weekend we will all talk about for years to come. Thank you for having us.

Beautiful Home
House was equipped with everything you would need. Lake was great, very shallow so it was warm for swimming. The kayaks, paddle boards and small boat were fun. Beautiful sunsets. Full disclosure: lots of steps in trilevel home so may not be ideal for people with mobility issues. Overall it was a wonderful place. Sandy and Nick were great to work with.

2nd Time Just as Good as the 1st
Sandy and Nick are wonderful hosts who are willing to go above and beyond for their guests. They communicate openly about amenities that may not be available before your stay and work towards fixing them so that they are available during your stay. The property was clean, and it was nice to see how they have improved the property from our previous stay over 2 years ago. Overall, Sandy and Nick's Northern House will be a place that my group will put as top-of-the-list for future Eagle River adventures.

Great Northwoods trip!
We can't say enough about this property and Nick and Sandy. They were the perfect hosts. The home was immaculate and it literally had EVERYTHING you could possibly need. Close to town but yet it is on a private lake so you feel like you are in your own little slice of heaven. We and our family had a fantastic time and we will definitely return! So many extras! We loved staying here. Best vrbo we’ve stayed at! Beautiful views of Meta lake from kitchen and bedrooms. Everything has been beautifully updated. Snacks and chilled waters were a nice welcoming touch! We appreciated extra supplies like toilet paper, cleaning supplies, Saran Wrap, paper towel, etc. there was even a box of toothbrushes if you forgot yours. A lot of homes don’t provide those things. Highly recommend this property!!

Amazing retreat
One of the best lake vacations we have taken. Perfect location with so much to do. The house was recently beautifully renovated and was perfect for my family. My husband still had to work remotely and was able to in the downstairs area while we played all day long outside. My kids spent hours outside each day fishing, kayaking, swimming, catching frogs and engaging in nature. Beautiful sunsets each night and lots of wildlife such as deer walked by each morning. We will definitely be back!

Family getaway
The house was nice and well equipped. Beds were comfortable - both the mattresses and sheets. The lake was beautiful - peaceful and relaxing. Nice fire pit with wood included. Loved the extras - kayaks and boat were included. Only possible negative - there are steps throughout the house. Not an issue for our group but could be an issue for families with small children or less mobile folks.
