The guest house is beautiful with classy furnishing, many large public areas to relax, a nice terrace for the breakfast and an inviting pool area by the quirky self service bar. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely old characterful property, but in very poor condition and needs a serious lick of paint and a good clean. Beautiful old sash windows, but hadn't been cleaned in years, and paint peeling off. Plugs were unsafe and held together by tape. Pool area nice, but again needs a good clean. Overall, 2-star at best.

Very unique and boutique, like staying in a period colonial house. From the silverware on the table at breakfast to the furnishings. Fabulous, and the staff all so very helpful.

Charming and stylish hotel
We loved the hotel. It is charming and the room with a canopy bed was wonderful with character and style. Much nicer than standard chain hotels. The service was friendly ,helpful and excellent. The breakfast was great . They have a buffet with fruit, cake, bread and cereal and then make your eggs and side dishes to order.I highly recommend Goble Palms.

Last minute decision to visit Durban after sailing across Indian Ocean and then on to Cape Town. Goble Palms was perfect from our host Goodman and owner Lionel. Accommodations were clean, plush bed and spacious rooms. The breakfast overlooking the Indian Ocean was beautiful. Highly recommended.

Nice place, room under kitchen to be avoided.
Very friendly staff. Wifi connection was bad. Room 8 not ideal for some one who wants to wake up late as its directly under the kitchen, noise from the the kitchen forced me to wake up early.

Beautiful house and grounds. Wish we could have stayed several days there just to enjoy the property. One block from some good places to dine, especially Mali (for Indian cuisine).

Lovely stay
Very cool hotel, made out of 4 houses that got connected, beautifully decorated and very very nice and spacious room. Full breakfast was delicious. Only stayed for 1 night so didn’t have time to visit the area. Sitting rooms around property were really beautiful. Would stay again if visiting the area!

Only a stopover!
We used this guest house as a stopover as we had an eary morning flight which meant we had to leave at 4am - no offer of a packed breakfast. No coffee or tea when we arrived. Clearly this place is "managed" and lacked any personal touch. Surrounding local area busy and grubby. Not a place that I would use for more than a night.

Colonial Durban
The staff gave us exceptional attention. This property is a lovely old colonial with many steps. It is not disability friendly but in all other ways we loved it.

Homey Bed & Breakfast
Good location 5 min from Moses Mabhida stadium, 15 min from Ushaka marine world, 30 min from airport. There is an airport shuttle that will drop you off for R100 (taxis were charging R450). Breakfast was very tasty and the staff was helpful especially Goodman. Use the cab service that they recommend or Uber to avoid being overcharged. It's also possible to rent a taxi by the hour for about R150/hr for excursions that are far and don't include transportation. Wifi didn't work well for the majority of my stay so if that's a must for work I would recommend a hotel rather than B&B. Property is very quaint. I enjoyed relaxing and reading in the sitting room and visiting the honesty bar.
