Our cute studio condo in the Kendall building (Unit 545) is in the heart of Purgatory Village only steps from the primary high-speed lift to the top of the mountain, the Purgatory Express. Nice mini kitchen with stainless appliances, walk-in shower, cozy fireplace in living area. The kitchen has 2 small fridges (one of which can be converted to a freezer only simply by adjusting the temperature), 2 stovetop burners, microwave, toaster oven, crockpot, coffee maker (regular drip and k-cup machines), and tea kettle. The Queen murphy bed doubles as a dining table when folded up.

BED CONFIGURATION:
* Studio - Queen Murphy Bed with memory foam topper
* Studio - Futon

KENDALL BUILDING: The condo is on the 5th floor (elevator access). The Kendall building also features a hot tub on the roof with amazing views of the Needles Mountain range. Coin laundry in this building - there is no washer/dryer inside the condo.

RESORT CLUB ACCESS: For an optional 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. When booking, just advise if you would like the extra 4% resort fee added.

PURGATORY SKI MOUNTAIN LOCATION: This condo is located at Purgatory Ski Resort in the San Juan Mountains. Purgatory is 25 minutes north of downtown Durango and is known as a family-friendly ski resort. It has 105 trails, including 5 terrain parks, over 1,500 skiable acres and 12 lift. The resort boasts an average annual snowfall of 260 inches. Purgatory Resort offers a variety of activities and amenities that cater to families, including ski lessons, childcare and a variety of restaurants. It is a more affordable option that some of the other ski resorts in Colorado, has a good mix of terrain for all ability levels, and stunning views. If you're looking for a resort that offers something for everyone, staying at this condo at Purgatory is a great option!

SUMMER AT PURGATORY: Purgatory boasts a bike park accessible by chair lift, an alpine slide, mountain coaster, and treasure panning. There are also hiking trails, jeep tours, and watercraft rentals on Twilight Lake. Purgatory hosts various events throughout the summer, such as live music concerts, festivals and bike races.

NO PETS: Due to HOA rules, the condo (and all condos in the building) is not pet friendly. Please do not bring your pets/emotional support animals.

COOLING: Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years). Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.

Perfect Purgatory studio
My goal of training endurance AND at elevation for hiking in France was perfectly served with this cute efficiency studio. Well equipped kitchen and amenities. Hot tub down the hall and laundry. Note! No AC but wicked fans served me well.👣😎❤️ The location allows access to soooo many hikes. Ski resort/mt Bike offers couple good restaurants with couple more on the way to Durango.

This property had a great location. Just steps to the slopes practically. If you are staying with more than 2 people it is small. Felt like we were on top of each other. However the beds were very comfy, the staff very friendly, and the building was quiet. I would definitely book here again.

Ski Getaway
Great location, so easy to come and go while skiing. The property is next to everything you could need. Hot tub was nice and the room itself was cozy. Great place for a quick ski getaway. I’m not a big fan of having to download an app just to figure out how to check in but just pay close attention and it’s straightforward. Really awesome place!

Walking down the hall to the rooftop hot tub, sauna, and steam room was a perfect way to start our mornings and unwind in the evenings.Just take the elevator down to the first floor, and you are greeted by a very convenient market before walking out to the slopes. The condo had everything we needed. There was plenty of closet space to unpack our winter gear. The Queen Murphy bed was extremely comfortable, as well as the futon. Plenty of blankets and extra pillows and linens are provided.There are shoe racks by the entry door to kick off your snow boots and a wall heater to defrost your gear. The fireplace was a lovely addition to have, as well! Plenty of firewood was provided.The Kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and dishwater, and we had plenty of cleaning supplies for our stay.This was my first time to Purgatory, and the location was great. We spent some days exploring the neighboring towns and shopping in Durango, which was about a 25 minute drive.

A decent little ski-in/ski-out...with some concerns
So first of all, the listing is accurate and you can't beat staying on the resort for a weekend of skiing. The studio is great for singletons, couples, or small families. That being said, I have some concerns about staying here in peak times. Be very aware the check in and check out times are 4pm - 10am...a very slim window and farore conservative than most comparable properties. Don't expect early check in to be available, either. The check out instructions also ask you to do quite a bit of cleaning, despite having quite a slim window to do so if you're trying to enjoy a vacation on the slopes. I'd recommend if guests are asked to do quite a bit of pre-check out tidying, the checkout be extended to 11 or 12 - as most other Purgatory rentals have. This was annoying, but not my greatest concern: cleanliness. I had serious reservations as to whether the bed linens were washed between guests. The Murphy bed, upon being pulled down, did not have a standard bed set with a quilt. There were sheets, pillow, and a fleece throw in lieu of a comforter. This isn't acceptable at the prices requested for this property. There were women's hairs all over the pillow cases and sheets, and the top sheet did not smell like clean laundry, but perfume or room spray. Additionally, there wasn't a full set of linens for the futon. If you advertise the futon as a separate bed for use, a full bed set needs to be provided for both. Lastly, there were some smells in the room upon arrival. I hate to say it had an ammonia of urine...but...that's what our noses picked up. After one night it did dissipate, but our initial impressions were not fantastic. The towel bar in the bathroom was also partially hanging from the wall. Here's the thing. We would gladly stay here again. Maybe the cleaners experienced some hiccups this weekend or something. We try not to be TOO critical, but given the price and the check-in/check-out times (presumably to accommodate a thorough cleaning and reset between guests)...we just won't be visiting this property again until we can be sure the experience will be a more positive one.

Texans came to ride!
Loved our stay. Little hot this week in Purgatory. With no air, could have used another fan. We would most definitely stay in this condo again. Very well located for UTV riding on the mountain. Many activities at the lodge.

It is small; however it served our purpose for our 4 day trip. The Murphy Bed mattress was quite a bit less than desirable, very lumpy and sort of flat. We purchased coffee for the coffee maker, unfortunately, there were no coffee filters. Additionally, the pillows and blankets are stored in the ottoman and various other places. You have to kind of look around for them. The resort was nice and day time activities are abundant. Although if you want dinner/drinks after 4PM, you have to venture out. The Nugget, just up the road toward Durango, is amazing!! I would definitely stay here again, but I will bring my own coffee filters. :)

Dreamy stay.
The property was just perfect for our stay. Location--right between Durango and Silverton. So much more going on at the resort than meets the eye from the road. The room was stellar and is way bigger than it appears in photos. Very comfortable! Front desk was very responsive to our two calls. I'd have given check-in 5 stars if the guy hadn't acted bored with his job. But the entire stay was the best!!

A nice play to stay
This is a cozy place to stay, specially if you are using it to sleep. I would recommend adding a fan for the warm days and nights. Leaving the window open at night is not convenient when you have little ones. Overall, the place is clean and provides all what is described on the list.
