Very quiet peaceful building in a laid-back small town with limited restaurants and shopping. The room had a mini-fridge with a freezer compartment which is nice. I loved that it is close to the train tracks so you can hear the trains. I wanted to stay longer...I will come back for sure!

Looks renovated but has serious flaws.
It was ok for a quick overnight stay. Pluses: new bathroom fixtures, reliable hot water, excellent mini-fridge. Minuses: nowhere to put clothes! No drawers, hangers, hooks, not even a towel bar or ring in the bathroom -- what were they thinking? The bed looked clean and new, but the mattress needed to be flipped or rotated. My hips sunk into a trough with virtually no support. I was too tired to deal with it and my back was sore the next morning. I'm a small person, so weight was not the issue.

It is fine if you are expecting an older motel that has been somewhat renovated, but Expedia users had given it a 9.6 rating and it not accurate. The owners are very nice, but that is not a reason to give it a rating it doesn’t live up to.

I really enjoyed all of the small touches and attention to detail. The room, although small, was charmingly decorated with a Scottish theme, and included space to hang jackets and a tray for wet boots. The outdoor fireplace and library on site made it feel homey.
