"The family had a great time while we celebrated Thanksgiving together. The views from the property are spectacular. We knew the area and were able to find the property with little issues. However, if you are new to the area, you might find the property a little difficult to find. Don't worry it is worth the short though winding drive. "Three brothers and two wives met at the Lake House for the Sand Hill Crane Festival in Birchwood. First, the festival was so interesting and fun and a must do if you like birds. Second, the cabin was fabulous! It was a cold weekend but the fireplace kept us cozy. The bedrooms were very comfortable; the kitchen was well-stocked with cookware and utensils; the view of the dock and lake were fabulous. We saw hundreds of sand hill cranes closer up than at the festival viewing site! It was too cold...

"We had a nice time, enjoyed FCF State Park. On plus side, very comfortable place, good bed, nice wraparound porch. On the minus side, small bathrooms, outside furniture needed cleaning (maybe keep cushions inside until use?), lighting throughout not good for reading."
