There are superb opportunities for outdoor activities both along the coast and inland where there is a great variety of river walks through to the hilltops giving magnificent panoramas to enjoy. Golf courses with great variety ranging from links courses at both Powfoot and Southerness to the parkland contrast of the two 18 holes course within Dumfries. The choice of other outdoor activities is almost endless and includes fishing, horse riding, water sports and clay pigeon shooting all of which are within easy reach.

For younger family members the nearby Dino Park offers prehistoric experiences, Mabie Farm Park and Dalscone in Dumfries offer the opportunity to get up close with animals and have extensive play areas. The Devils Porridge Museum tells the story of the greatest WW1 munitions factory on earth at Eastriggs and Caerlaverock Nature Reserve, WWT centre and unique triangular castle a short drive away

The cottage has been fully renovated and provides a luxurious holiday base. The south facing patio complete with Hot Tub is the ideal spot for a relaxing evening with family & friends after a day of exploring.
