"As an older female, and solo traveller, I found The Freddie Mercury Hotel to be very safe indeed. Conveniently located and easily accessibleat the end of the Montreux train station platform. There are shops, a small supermarket, a pharmacy, an Irish Pub, and local bus stop within minutes minutes from the hotel. And also a lift down to the lake area beside the main road. "Had a great time with friends and children at this hotel. The pool and kids rooms are great. The breakfast was good but would have loved more home made or local options. We had booked a comfort appartement which was the good size for a family of 4. However, in the bedroom, we had 2 separate twin beds for adults (in each corner of the room), which I found a bit odd. Apart from that, the view was stunning! "

"This hotel's strongest asset is it is super close and easy to get to and from the train station with a short walk. The room is small but comfortable. The view from the balcony was wonderful. Breakfast was great as well. This hotel just needs a little update and it would be even better. That being said, it was still and good experience!"

"We were welcomed and checked in warmly by reception. We had also pre-registered online by the welcome email from Hotel Baren. Their staff went the extra mile to provide extra latex pillow and fixed the safe locking error when requested.
