Spacious Duck Creek cabin near Zion & Bryce Parks on quiet, DEAD-END LANE

Two of the most important features of our cabin (in our opinion and why we purchased the cabin) is its location on a dead-end lane and the wonderful views of Duck Creek Village, meadow and surrounding mountains from the large deck. The roads can be dusty and very noisy from UTV’s and ATV’s. Our dead-end lane is very quiet, secluded with very little dust. The views of the surrounding mountains, Duck Creek Village and sky are amazing. NOTE: Duck Creek Village is about 8500 feet above sea level.

The cabin is also very open and bright...when we looked at buying a cabin so many were dark and closed in. We wanted light and bright!

NO PETS....we have severe allergies.

Just after Thanksgiving we put up a lighted holiday tree and some tasteful holiday decor for our guests to enjoy (we get to enjoy it too…if we make it there during December).

2 bedrooms each with king beds and plush bedding
1 large full bath with tub/shower combo in between both bedrooms (separate access to bathroom), comfort height commode. Good water pressure everywhere in the cabin.

Queen plus sofa sleeper in large main living area. Unlike most sofa beds mattresses, two people can sleep comfortably side-by-side with no motion transfer. There is no gap between the mattress and back or arms and no parts of the mechanism are exposed, so it's safe for children.

Even though the cabin CAN sleep up to 6, we really feel our cabin is great for 2-4 people maximum and prefer to keep it that way :)

We lease our cabin nightly year-round. We do have professional snow removal for the driveway in the winter. The unpaved roads in the area are plowed and usually snow-packed as well but we do require you have a 4 wheel drive and chains just in case.

** Full Kitchen including full size refrigerator, oven, new full size above range/oven microwave (not in photos) that direct vents to the outside of cabin, portable dishwasher (needs to be attached to kitchen faucet to run). We do dishes by hand most the time.
** We have installed a new stainless/black stove/oven that is more versatile, better at cooking (not in photos yet)
** Coffee maker (#4 filter), mini Keurig machine, toaster, blender, large crock pot, waffle iron, plenty of dish ware, cookware, utensils and specialty cooking items too!
**Plenty of specialty adult beverage drinking items (stemware, openers etc.)
**65” Smart HDTV with Blue ray player and surround sound system. DISH satellite. Photos show a 55” TV but we’ve replaced it with a 65”.
**Huge, beautiful wood burning stove with blower in large living area.
**Large deck with patio furniture and a large propane BBQ grill (propane tank can be exchanged at the Duck Creek True Value, if needed).

**Fire pit outside next to the cabin.....make s'mores, have a cocktail by the fire, look up at the stars! Plenty of chairs and space. Generally not available in winter as it is covered by snow!

**Garage under cabin for some storage (ATV, OHV, UTV, bikes etc.) not quite large enough for a car/truck.....great to work on ATVs, snowmobiles, bikes, skis etc.
**Exterior hose and faucet to clean your toys
**Full size washer and dryer in garage (under main portion of cabin, see photos)
**RV parking and plenty of space for vehicle parking.
**HIGH SPEED WiFi Internet, we get great service on our cell phones (Verizon, AT&T, T Mobile) at the cabin but very limited service on highway 14 (on your way to cabin)
**Plenty of games, books, puzzles, and area guide books, local literature and maps
**All one level living
**Ceiling fans with lights in each bedroom (not in photos…added August 2024).

We also added a new bathroom exhaust fan with SurfaceShield™ with Vyv™ antibacterial light technology It helps keep spaces cleaner. The fan quietly removes humidity from the room and destroys bacteria, mold and fungus with the flick of a switch.

We have 4 Envi High Efficiency whole room convection wall panel fan-less heaters for the bedrooms and main living area. They are SAFE for children, slim and silent (no fan). Heat in each bedroom and living area can be controlled separately.
We also have a mobile infrared room heater to help warm up the cabin while you start a fire or to use to replace the fire.
We have a small electric "fireplace" in the cabinet under the TV as well.

March 2021: we stayed at our cabin for 4 nights and did not need to start a fire in the wood stove. We were able to use the heaters in the cabin. Our wood stove is fabulous but sometimes I don’t want to smell the smoke!

Note: The cabin is very clean HOWEVER despite our best efforts to keep it clean; we do get cobwebs quickly (cleaning one day and webs the next). It is a cabin in the mountains! I rarely see spiders but I do see their webs.

Wildlife abounds here.....plenty of deer, birds, chipmunks, squirrels, crazy gaggles of wild turkeys rumble around our lot and surrounding vacant lot before taking flight to roost in the trees in front of our deck! They look like lumbering, heavy planes trying to get a running start to fly!

This small mountain town sits right off Highway 14 on Cedar Mountain in Dixie National Forrest and is a gateway to some amazing near by National Parks including Bryce Canyon and Zion Canyon. With highway 14 taking you east to Highway 89 you can virtually be to Zion to Bryce in just about an hour and escape the hectic park traffic nearby the parks. This Cedar Mountain town called Duck Creek is full of Pines, Cedar, and Aspen filled meadows that all has an abundance of wildlife. The local wildlife include; Mule Deer, Elk, Antelope, Black Bear, Cougar, Turkey, Grouse, and many other small game.

Helpful neighbor
The place was very Northwoods as we say in Wisconsin. I's suggest a map of the roads to go with written descripti-on. Some of us are more visual. A neighbor saw us wandering and took us to the place. I forget his name.

Peaceful Escape!
We absolutely enjoyed our time at this cabin. Communication with Jennifer was outstanding and I have never had a host so kind, accommodating, and helpful in finding things to do in the area. We have used VRBO rentals for the past 6 or 7 years and this is by far my favorite. The cabin was stocked with every essential for our 5 night stay. Jennifer’s detailed directions to access the cabin were wonderful especially considering my vehicle a Buick Enclave, it was easier to access through the longer route. The beds were comfortable, bathroom very clean, and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. Our toddler was able to run around and have all the space he needed and still feel very cozy and comfortable. The location of the cabin was perfect for visiting multiple national parks, multiple lakes, streams, riding trails, anything you could think of. We even made the drive to Vegas for a day and back to the cabin by nightfall. I would recommend this place to stay for anyone, and we would stay again for sure.

great retreat
The cabin was exactly what I expected. If not better there was two of us totally enough room for four. I chose it because it was right in the middle of Bryce and Zion. If you don’t mind driving a little bit, it worked out pretty good. There are some really cool little hikes just in the immediate area as well and deck Creek is a nice spot to throw a little flyfishing in. We did not ATV, but there are a ton of trails around there and some rentals that you can get out and have some fun.

Cozy and Comfortable
This cozy cabin was the perfect place for a weeklong getaway for the two of us. The kitchen is well-appointed, the beds are comfortable and satellite TV and solid WiFi gave us all of the comforts of home. The deck with a beautiful view of the valley and mountains was great for relaxed meals and the firepit gave the place just the right "camping" touch. With easy access to nearby national parks and plenty of trails to hike, it was easy to fill our days with pleasant recreation. Special thanks to the owner for clueing us in on the Duck Creek Village Independence Day Parade. It was a fun diversion during our stay.

Cozy Cabin
We had a wonderful time! We saw quite a few different types of birds at the feeders on the deck, including baby birds that would chirp for food every time mama bird entered the birdhouse. We appreciated that they had a Utah bird book to identify the birds we saw. We had plenty of room for our side by side & dirt bike and it was nice to be able to park them in the garage while we took a day to visit Bryce Canyon (hour away & worth it!). It was a ton of fun hiking & riding around the nearby trails. The cabin had everything we needed and was plenty of space for us & our college age kids.

Charming cabin
This high altitude cabin is full of charm and personal touches. It was clean and comfortable. When texted with a question, the host was responsive. The location is fairly quiet and good for bird watching. It is centrally located to be able to visit many of the parks. A 4-wheel vehicle is a must on the hilly dirt roads to reach the cabin. Once you book, the host will send detailed written directions to reach the cabin, you must follow them, do not follow GPS! (Jennifer, if you would include a map it would be helpful). Thorough and extensive instructions are included for everything you will need to do in the cabin, tv, heating, fireplace, laundry, etc…

snowed out
This winter, according to locals, has been the snowiest winter in recent memory. Consequently, we were barely able to get to this cabin, had to spend a long time shoveling snow out of the driveway just to park our car, and another 45 minutes shoveling snow to get back out of the driveway. We scheduled to stay here for three nights, but after the first night (during which it snowed 6"), we got the weather report, which predicted a foot of snow the following day and another foot+ the third day. We drove (barely!) down the hill to get some additional groceries and realized we would not be able to make it back to the cabin, so we hired a gentleman to take us back to the cabin in is very snow-worthy Jeep, we packed and cleaned up, then left. So we have two days and nights for which we paid rent but weren't able to use. Of course, this is nobody's fault. Snow happens. Thankfully, we insured our stay, so we are hoping the insurance will cover the two days and nights we were unable to stay there. Having said as much, the cabin is totally delightful in every way, well worth the price. The proprietor (Jennifer) was very helpful. We hope to come here again, except perhaps not in the winter.

Cozy cabin perfect for family of 4
Absolutely loved staying at this cabin for our snowy spring break. So much snow! The cabin is easy to get to with 4WD - definitely need it with how much snow Duck Creek had when we went. We saw a few 2wd cars stuck and sliding, some with chains too. Experienced winter driving is a must with this much snow. The cabin is located near the end of a quiet street, which made for a really nice peaceful trip. The back of the cabin and deck have a gorgeous view. We had to shovel snow off the deck to get to the bbq and bird feeders but that was no issue to us at all. Definitely a great place for bird watchers. Well stocked kitchen - had everything we needed and more. Beds were comfortable, cabin temp was perfect after getting heaters and wood burning stove going. We never used the TV to watch movies or anything but we took advantage of the well stocked game cabinet which was a nice touch. Owners easy to communicate with and super nice. We would definitely stay here again in any season.

The cabin was in a beautiful location, with a wonderful deck. It was well-supplied with everything needed, including bird seed for the feeders and firewood for inside and out. Very comfortable. Housekeeping missed a few places, but nothing big. I may be old-fashioned, but to me, hosting includes doing the laundry. This is the first time, of many VRBO and AirB&B stays, that we have been asked to wash the towels.

Just Perfect
Just what we were looking for, a mountain base home in between Zion and Bryce National Parks and we ventured out to Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Canyon. It was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked as we ate dinners in most nights. The house is tastefully decorated and it was fun to look at all the treasures that had been collected. We found so much to do in the Duck Creek Village area, hiking several lakes and trails within 5-10 miles of the house. The fall colors of the trees were spectacular. The locals in the area are friendly and helpful. We would definitely book again if our travels took us this way again.

Great cabin and owner
We loved this cabin. It was perfect for the two of us. Bed was very comfortable. Views are awesome. Kitchen had everything you need and more. Very well stocked. (Just need the pantry to have available shelves for what guests bring.) The older green couch is tough on our 70 yr old backs is our only criticism. The sofabed and single chairs were very comfortable. Lots of "How to" signs throughout the cabin. The wildlife and bird feeders were great for bird watching. The garage to store our UTV was great to have. Especially on the rainy nights. Great location to the village. Overall, just a great experience. Jennifer, owner, was very responsive and arrival was a breeze. Thank you Jennifer.

Wonderful Time on our Honeymoon!
My husband and I decided to stay here for our honeymoon and we had a great time. The cabin was very clean and cozy even in the winter months when the temp was in the 20's at night. We especially enjoyed the wood burning stove and the turkeys that were right outside our porch every morning. The cabin was in the perfect location to take a day trip to either Bryce Canyon or Zion National park and Cedar city was pretty close as well if we needed any supplies. It snowed while we were there and I'm definitely glad we had an AWD suv to get up the cabin. Overall we had a wonderful trip!
