An absolute gem of a historical seaside house in Dubrovnik
We stayed four nights in Matej's totally charming, centuries old house, and it was perfect for our family of five. The house has a huge garden - and I mean really huge - that also has two turtles strolling around. We had some really wonderful al fresco dinners, grilling local fish. But even better than the garden was the fact that the house is situated literally by the sea and you could basically jump into it literally out of the front gate. Matej also kindly helped to organize a boat for us, and we spent four hours on the sea exploring the famous blue cave on one nearby island as well as having picnic in the port of the Dubrovnik Old Town. Initially we were a bit concerned by the house's somewhat "remote" location, remote meaning that it's not in the Old Town. However, understanding now better the local situation, I think the location is actually great as long as one has a car. Everything is just minutes away, and the village of Mokosica has a very different local charm compared to the touristic Old Town. We are very grateful to Matiej and his wife for the opportunity to stay in their house, absolutely recommend it to anybody, and certainly will come back.
