Could have been so much better...
After flying for nearly 30 hours, and making 3 phone calls we had to wait for over 45 minutes for someone to show up and let us in, despite calling the day before and making a specific arrangement. I was then told we had to pay 75 euro cleaning charge in cash on the spot, just coming from the airport I did not have euro in cash, so I had to run to the currency exchange and back nearly 1 mile away to be able to pay this, which was annoying to say the least. I did not receive a receipt for this either. I was then charged $350 security deposit by credit card (in fairness it does state this on the website) I was told this would be released same day by the greeter, but actually took ten days. First impressions are not great as it is a commercial street entrance to a space over a gift shop and the entrance, while secure, it was littered with cigarette butts and was not clean. Work was clearly underway at the apartment, and day two a workmen turned up to put down flooring and was hammering and banging all afternoon outside our door. I have no issue with this, but should have been told before hand. The apartment was generally clean, but not $75 euro clean! Several lamps did not have light bulbs in them and most of the wardrobe was full of construction materials or other junk. The water pump is horrendously noisy and disturbing.
Internet connection was excellent and measured at over 39MBPS. Location is excellent and is in the middle of everything in the O'Connell street area
