The beds were super comfy, the place was clean, and there was plenty of space for the 9 of us!
Property was close to the Ark and easy to find. Plenty of room for a large family just an older home that has been updated and rooms upstairs are very warm to sleep in. Over all, nice stay and great time in Kentucky.
The house was nice and in a quiet neighborhood. Comfortable and cozy. Just a short drive to the Ark Encounter. Approximately 45 minute drive to Creation Museum. Austin responded within a hour or two if I needed information. Would stay again if in the area traveling.
We enjoyed our stay. House met our needs perfectly. We would recommend some type of coverings on bathroom windows. We were very close to Ark which made it nice traveling back and forth. Thank you to the hosts!
Great house! Everything we needed you had there. Loved the location. Quiet area but close to everything we were going to see with easy on/off access. Thanks for having us!
This property was clean and exactly what it shows to be. The property owner couldn't have been any nicer and easy to work with. We actually had some mechanical problems on our vehicle once we got to the property and the owner provided us with a couple of shops around town to have it looked at. He could have easily just told us he couldn't help us but he didn't. My family and I visited both the Creation Museum and The Ark Encounter and after a long day at each one of those coming back to this property just felt like you were coming back home.
We stayed with family and friends and had an excellent time. We went to the Ark Encounter, The Creation Museum, and took a ferry boat ride in Newport Kentucky which is very close to Cincinnati. We saw the Cincinnati Reds All American Ball park!! This was a great trip for all of us - ages 5-60 plus!
We enjoyed the backyard here at the house and we had everything we needed in the house! Austin was very helpful and suggested Buckhead Mountain Grill in Newport and it was great too! Thanks Austin for everything!
Property was just as described. Very clean with up to date appliances. Beds VERY comfy. Couch very comfy. The neighborhood was quiet and well kept. Our girls were able to ride their bikes some while there. The bikes were kept outside, unsecured and no problem. (note to owner, I did notice under the lint trap in the dryer it was very full of lint. I cleaned it out as best I could, but might want to mention to who ever cleans for you to check the dryer for lint build up) Great house.
The couch was amazing, in fact when searching for properties, this one was at the top of the list because it actually 'looked' like it had enough seating for the number of guests it said it could accommodate.
It did NOT disappoint. The beds were extremely comfortable, the linens, towels and kitchen items were in abundance.
Kudos to the hosts for laundering the bedspreads each time, that was a big plus for our ladies.
We all enjoyed the table which could actually seat 6 people so we could play games and have meals together. The other plus was the card table and chairs which extended our game play.
The other plus was the abundance of disposable items, laundry packs, dishwasher packs, etc. which most rentals only give you a 'starter' these hosts went above and beyond to make sure you didn't have to buy replacement basics.
This lovely remodeled home was a great launch site for our adventures to the Creation Museum, Ark Encounter, Big Bone Lick State Historic Site (Bison!), Yuko-en On the Elkhorn.
There is so much to explore, but we ran out of time. Thank you again for providing such a lovely home and being gracious, caring hosts. Definitely will recommend this listing to other fellow travelers.
The booking process was very easy, communication with Austin was perfect and the house was convenient and perfect for all the ages we brought! They had extra nice touches in the house! This house was very close to ark and nice to have Starbucks/dunkin very close by! There is a train I heard several times throughout the night(I sleep light) but none of the other group heard it and the bed left of the bathroom didn't have as nice of mattress as the other rooms literally that's all I can say about this place that wasn't perfect so pretty phenomenal place! We realized the ark isn't open on Sundays so we decided to leave a day early and I let Austin know we had already left due to that and he was apologetic for not realizing the ark/museum wasn't open on Sundays until may(how would he know I didn't even know) and he offered for us to have a free nights stay on them, he most certainly didn't have too nor did we expect that but how awesome of him? We will be returning there this summer and hope that others visiting the ark/museum choose to stay here and I will tell everyone in TN about kings cottage, thanks Austin you went above and beyond!
The only semi- disappointment is the three beds were full size not queen size and one set of bunk beđs and one day bed with trundle in the office area. The listing showed three queen beds and two sets of bunks. All in all everything was very clean and good working order, even had unexpected extras such as bottled water few snacks salt and pepper and other little things we wouldn't think to bring.
The home is absolutely adorable with the most friendly neighbors (whom waved everytime you would drive past). The set up of the home is way better than the pictures show. We had 9 total people stay (5 adults and 4 kids). The communication with the owners was great. The only thing I would recommend is possibly an upstairs air conditioner and it got very toasty sleeping up there! Overall very impressed.
Thoughtful touches were included throughout the property, including super soft linens/sheets in each room, throw blankets to cuddle up with, board games (like LIFE and Jenga) and a coffee table book detailing the origins of past travelers and what brought them to town. Loved that each room included a photo layout of the house and all the switches were labeled which helped my husband and I easily acclimate our 6 children (all aged 10 and under) upon arrival after spending more than 14 hours in a car. Didn't realize there was a trundle bed in one of the rooms when we booked, but it was an awesome solution for our 3 year old twins who aren't used to sleeping on a regular bed (3-4 feet off the floor). Neighborhood was quaint and property had more than enough yardspace to let the children run around and play for a bit. Would definitely stay again if/when we come to town and recommend for larger groups, especially families with younger children.
house nice, clean.
plenty of bed space
huge back yard kicked the soccer ball around
quiet neighborhood
one down ( no fire pit ) easily can live without
