Welcome to the Misi-Ziibi River House, located by the peaceful Mississippi River. Whether you’re here for a romantic retreat or family getaway, it’s the perfect spot to relax. Just 12 minutes from Carleton Place and Perth, and under 45 minutes from Ottawa, this charming two-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage is a cozy retreat. Misi-Ziibi means “great river” in the Anishinaabe language. About the House: Originally built in the 1950s and updated over time, the Misi-Ziibi River House sits on a riverside lot with plenty of space to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The water is the main attraction, whether you’re lounging in the rapids, wading in shallow waters, or enjoying a riverside campfire. Outdoor Fun: There’s a large front yard perfect for sports or letting your dog run around. The firepit by the river is ideal for evenings with a drink and marshmallows. Kayakers, paddleboarders, and canoeists can explore nearby Ferguson Falls or Mississippi Lake. Inside the House: The front porch is great for morning coffee, and the kitchen is equipped for all your vacation needs. There’s no dishwasher, but you’ll love watching birds from the sink. The bathroom has a tub/shower, and the bedrooms come with new mattresses and plenty of storage. Workspace: A small desk with a USB lamp offers a peaceful place to work while enjoying a river view.
